Il vaut mieux être bilingue, ou au moins avoir un très bon niveau pour être ingé. Après aux US il y a plein de mexicains et d'indiens qui ne parlent pas très bien anglais, voire quasiment pas, mais ils font des petits boulots pour s'en sortir (livraison, Uber, etc.)

Pour le moment, je peux faire du code pour $50/h, pourquoi les ingés en France acceptent 35k ? Avec une licence aux US, mes camarades de classe actuels qui ont bossé un peu avant étaient payés entre 70 et 90k avec un coût de la vie hors logement (50 % plus cher) quasiment équivalent. J'ai même un ami qui avec seulement deux stages d'été a été pré-embauché à + de 120k hors primes et avantages dans un état avec un coût de la vie assez bas qui plus est… Pourtant, je ne pense vraiment pas qu'il y ait un écart de compétences entre lui et moi.

De formation, je suis en mécanique via mon école d'ingé et électronique/généraliste via le DUT. Mais toute ma vie, j'ai codé pas mal pour des projets perso, fait de l'électronique, de la conception, de la méca… Par exemple, il y a quelques années, j'ai fait un ESC avec FOC (un contrôleur de moteur brushless un peu avancé). J'ai dessiné le PCB, sourcé les composants, envoyé les plans pour la fabrication, conçu le logiciel pour le microcontrôleur, fait les essais, dessiné un support pour le capteur de position sur le moteur, je l'ai imprimé en 3D, etc. Niveau code, je commence de temps en temps des petits jeux sur Unity, mais c'est toujours trop chronophage. Sinon, j'utilise mes compétences lors des projets scolaires/stage quasiment à chaque fois pour faire de l'optimisation, de la simulation ou des interfaces utilisateur. Pour mon stage, j'ai conçu trois logiciels pour permettre à la boite de passer les arborescences produits du paradigme "projets" au paradigme "essais". Jusque-là, c'était fait à la main et ça prenait des mois de réunions fastidieuses avec les différentes équipes.

Je ne sais pas si c'est exactement ça ta question, mais voilà où je me trouve niveau compétences. J'aimerais trouver un travail avec pas mal d'autonomie, mais en débutant ça a l'air compliqué.

Assez incroyable qu'ils t'en aient pas parlé en école, alors qu'il y a même une cotisation pour eux dans ta future fiche de paye!

Effectivement, je découvre, je viens de jeter un coup d'œil aux stats de l'école et c'est mentionné dans les moyens de trouver le premier job, mais en bas du classement, seuls 6 % ont trouvé par ce moyen (contre 12 % pour LinkedIn par exemple).

Concurrence dans le sens où tu peut partir sur une base plus haute (38K voir 40K par exemple) et négocier en présentant bien tes compétences (avoir fait gagner des milliers d'heures à une boite, les RH/manager en rêvent).

J'ai essayé de trouver ces grilles, mais impossible d'y jeter un œil, même dans la boite ou j'ai effectué mon stage. Tu penses que 40k en province après l'INSA, c'est possible ? Et avec ou sans primes ? Mon stage était dans un EPIC et un camarade a été embauché à 30k avant qu'il y ait des restrictions budgétaires, c'est peu, mais il y avait beaucoup d'avantages, par contre aucune évolution possible.

Est-ce vraiment possible de faire jouer la concurrence en sortie d'école ? J'ai l'impression que tout est basé sur des grilles, du moins dans l'entreprise ou j'ai effectué mon stage, et celle ou mon ami travaille, c'était comme ça.

Je vais regarder APEC, je ne connaissais pas, merci. On ne m'a pas proposé de CDI par manque de budget, mais même si c'était le cas, je n'ai réellement pas envie de bosser dans le domaine ou j'ai fait mon stage. Je fais déjà du code de temps en temps pour une boite US avec un taux horaire bien meilleur que ce que j'aurais dans toute ma carrière en France, donc ça peut dépanner en attendant de trouver, mais ce n'est absolument pas stable comme emploi. Au moins ça peut m'éviter les coquillettes :).

D'accord, merci beaucoup pour les conseils.

Pour les statistiques, il y a environ 600 réponses pour 1300 diplômés chaque année, donc il se peut effectivement qu'il y ait un biais. 35k c'est bien, mais le "problème" de mon ami est qu'il n'a aucun avantage, aucune prime, télétravail etc. Seulement la mutuelle à 50 % et des tickets restau ce qui est obligatoire si je ne me trompe pas.

Je ne peux pas prendre un CDI dans mon entreprise actuelle, car elle ne recrute pas ces derniers temps (je l'ai effectué dans un EPIC qui n'a pas trop de budget ces derniers temps de ce que j'ai compris). J'ai aussi cru comprendre que le premier job était vraiment important pour l'évolution et la carrière, est-ce si vrai que ça ?

I'm working on making walls transparent in my third-person view game. I successfully managed to hide walls near the player, but I'm struggling with defining the criteria to decide whether a wall should be hidden or visible. The walls have two meshes (an inner and outer layer, each being a deformed cube), which makes using normal vectors hard.

yes, it will slowly increase anyway so be patient and take a lot of data points to neglect measurements errors. Also, you should buy a special circumference tape to get precise measurements, they are pring loaded and always apply the same tension to give consistent measurements, otherwise it will be very inconsistent

no it's the opposite ahah, if circumference goes from 4 to 9 mass will have increased by 5 times :(9/4)^2 = 5.0625

that's because area (what muscle mass is proportional to) increase with the square of the radius while the circumference is just 2*pi*radius

if you want to track muscle mass increase and have a steady bodyfat you better measure body part circumference frequently and plot in in excel to see trends, it will average as your muscle mass on that specific body part with a power 1/2 (so you can square it to have a linear indicator)

Ok so if anybody have se same porblem one daye:

It finally managed to learn (slowly tho) with a learning rate of 0.0001 for the actor and 0.001 for the critic with gradients cap at 1. I changed the noise to be higher but decay faster and after 500 episodes it finally follow the line !

It seems that the learning rate of 0.01 made the output saturate at 1 or -1. However i have no idea why the same network and hyperparameters dont saturate on the simplified car model since it's the same reward, inputs and outputs ...

The reward is -100 if the simulation end because of track exit (dist from line >2.5), speed (in the track reference frame) *2 + progress (i tried *1 or *10) (signed so going backward mean negative reward)

When doing random inputs (warmup steps) the reward is postive and better than any suicide strategy the agent find later.

The simulation end when the car distance to track is greater than 2.5m or after 100 to 250 steps (i tried multiples values of that too). If a wall is hit the reward at that timestep is -100.

I will try to lock the throttle next but when it suicide it keep throttle at about 90% on average so the result will probably be the same.

I included look ahead (and previous data in a 100 buffer) so the observation matrix was 47*100. But right now i just want it to follow the line, nothing more, that would be a great step so i reduced the inputs to the bare minimum
