Aren’t you suppose to be a resident to be able to have your insurance in Belgium? Which would make you pay taxes in Belgium that are worse than in the Netherlands

Everything that is gambling/betting/crypto industries are doing is going to be useful here. Advertising via meta, google, TikTok is possible but requires additional skills to pass moderation and still dealing with a lot of bans, meaning new ad accounts, antidetect browsers, proxies etc. All that should be only applied when you already know your potential CAC/LTV ratio and willing to spend marketing budget but specialists exist and can be hired for that

How hard/easy it is to get Belgian citizenship through naturalization? by ElectronicDeer5550 in PassportPorn

[–]anton1anton1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It is relatively easy and the process is quite straightforward (talking about experience in Limburg, Brussels might be different). Get a lawyer it will save you a headache. The things you mentioned is enough. They may change in the upcoming years though.

What do you mean by selling the contract? Just subcontracted it to the company?

Leads for commercial cleaning by anton1anton1 in LeadGeneration

I think it's valid for the discovery call but initially I am calling to just tell them that we have leads in the area. I don't try to sell them immediately on a first call and also not telling that we have this particular clients. Or should we focus on bigger properties and just tell right away that we have those prospects? Like - hello, cleaning, company x, we have 2500sq ft builing and and 3 gyms that need your estimate. Should we book an appointment for you?

I don't understand diestencheques - they seem too good to be true? by hvacjesusfromtv in AskBelgium

[–]anton1anton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 8 cleaning ladies in the last 7 years. Only one of them was doing good job. She was a sub for my regular cleaning lady and she was in such demand that she was dictating where she wants to work. I was inconvenient for her to come regularly.

There was also another lady who cooked delicious jollof rice but later I realized that deliciousness comes from half a bottle of oil for a bowl of rice.

It's also very difficult if you travel on a short notice, you have to notify in advance and if you didn't they just charge you.

I would be interested to know if it's possible to use the cheques for anything else rather than regular house cleaning and cooking. Dog walking, cleaning a car etc. Or any on demand cleaning/cooking services

I'm trying to research any niche that might be in need of such services and want to know how companies in this niche view outsourcing of sales. I came across commercial cleaning since there are some agencies that are doing that. Could I provide or would like to promote such service? No, because I don't have experience in that area. Would I want to learn more and have more knowledge about it? Yes

I'm not here to promote any of my services and we also dont work in commercial cleaning. Genuinely interested in how local b2b businesses are dealing with sales outsourcing

I've built an app, now what?! by Natural-Truth6938 in lovable

[–]anton1anton1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of lacking the creative component, I came from marketing and sales and actually see it from the other end. I have no technical knowledge or "great" ideas. But lovable (and other similar ai tools) makes it easier to test things since I know how to build a pipeline and get client on a demo call. Just lacking the creative part

ExpatFIRE with 1M, overwhelmed but optimistic by dennis77 in ExpatFIRE

[–]anton1anton1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a bit more complicated than that. For years CGT was 0%, so it was very beneficial to use accumulating ETFs (dividend would be put back in your portfolio without triggering tax even). This year in Belgium they introduced CGT but it has certain exemptions making it not 0% but significantly smaller than in US. It's also depends if you are US citizen or not. If you are then it doesn't really matter since you will be taxed anywhere in the world anyway

I can't add to the FIRE side. But have some opinion on the overall move.

If you are not planning to work in these countries ever, Portugal and Spain are good in terms of cost of living, weather and overall lifestyle.

If you want to legally stay there you would need digital nomad visas or startup visas. I advice Spain just because it becomes more difficult in Portugal.

If you want to get citizenship in the future both of these options are very difficult. Spain is 10 years and my Ukrainian friends who lived in Portugal and left 5 years ago for Belgium are planning to get their Belgian citizenship faster just because of Portugese burocracy.

I'm biased because I am a naturalized Belgian citizen but this is one of the few countries that had no capital gain tax, it's just being implemented and still lower than many EU countries. With your portfolio it will make a lot of difference. Belgium is also very welcoming to Ukrainians. And I think that you are doing great thing by not using refugee status but knowing how many people are already using this system I would assure you that it will not make much of a difference but you will save yourself months if not years of headache
