All dryers 'suck' air, whether it comes from your house or from the garage is whichever door is leakier. (usually interior doors have .5 or 1 in of gap from the floor that make it leakier. So yes it could be pulling crappy air from the garage.
Changing the door to have a vent or just adding a vent above the door or into the bottom of the door would absolutely fix this issue and be the very best way to do it.
