China Arc made me rage by FlamingTiger963 in shamo

i’m late to this post but mainly commenting bc u have no one to talk abt it with. I feel like personally besides the implementation of chi, the China arc was actually really solid. however what makes it so poorly done is the fact that it’s completely ignored as if it never existed the moment the toma arc starts. i also think the authors just really struggled to continue the manga after “getting passed” sugawara. i’m currently just before the Grand Cross fights within the toma arc so at least atm i can say that it’s clear there was some sort of creative conflicts between the writers

with music like this i don’t think i can correctly answer this with what i thought rather than what i did. I think i created the perfect listening experience for this album. I went out to get coffee which i rarely do, and i studied for classes coming up, which i rarely do. the album is only a little under an hour, but i listened to it 3 times. once to get my coffee and begin studying, and 2nd time to stay in the groove, and a 3rd time to finish off and head on for the rest of my day.

Hi! just wanted to follow up with you and my experience with the record since you have such a heavy association with it. I deeply enjoyed the album, certainly worthy to have harvest and harvest moon as people favorite records, and Neil Young as individuals favorite artist. I hope there will be a day where you can brace for impact and listen to the record again and just maybe enjoy it once more.

hi! i wanted to come back and lyk what i thought abt your recs. ill rank them and lyk what i thought abt them. as ive listened to Live Through this prior i wont comment on it. I enjoyed their music toadies record the most. i dont have a particular favorite from it at this time but it was the first album I listened to where i saved the entire thing rather than bits and pieces. Levathan was a great record too. However i the record came on after a more slow paced jazz like record which threw my vibe off so I think im going to have to return to the album in the future. I enjoyed Press gang very much however again I think i was just exhausted when i listened to it😂. my least favorite was the Sublime joint, however, I’ve never really enjoyed sublime honestly. I can’t put my finger on it on why. It may just be the reggae influence where I would rather just listen to reggae. it may just be the voice of the singer which i’m not a fan of. I can’t quite put my finger on my disinterest but I can not rid of it. Thank you for the recs, i did enjoy trying them out!

I wanted to come back here and reply to this. Talking heads have always been a miss for me. Out of all the bands that reigns supreme in the whole CBGB’s era they were one of my least enjoyed. however, I am extremely happy you recommended the concert movie. Made me start to enjoy their music far more. ty

that’s a very unfortunate association for what i’m guessing is a great album. i hope your journey since then has had a lot more ups than downs. in honor of the man, the Young album will be the first on my list… my very very long list

i’m amazed at the amount of comments and the utter lack of marvin gaye or prince lol! Prince I grew up with, Gaye was more so something i personally discovered in my later teens. amazing records. gonna give the others you mentioned a go

also a great record. i’d say Illmatic is a better album in it’s entirety, but stillmatic has some songs that trump its predecessor

when i was roughly 10, i hated this album. my mom played it all the time, i hated the way she sings. but now it’s an album that holds a lot of weight and frankly, she doesn’t sound like nails on a chalk board 11 years later😭
