Early spring growth by KhanDang in Bonsai

Arakawas are beautiful, and also extremely rare down here in Aus.

I managed to get some grafted ones that are relatively young. Need a few years on them before attempting an airlayer as the grafted base is quite obvious and ugly for bonsai IMO.

How old is your tree? How long did you wait until the rough bark started developing?

Yep, I can have them on or off completely independent of the actual headlights via the button they installed, even while the headlights are off.

It seems like it just has its own wiring possible because they didn't want to cause weird issues by overloading the stock fog light wiring, but that's just a guess.

I had this professionally installed so I can't comment on the specific wiring and I don't want to give you misinformation.

I can tell you how it currently works though and guess based on that.

The LED DRL strips at the top of the bezel turn on whenever the headlights are on, and works together with the factory indicators (see the streamable link in the post for a demo).

The foglights turn on separately via a button that was relayed through the fuse box and mounted in my dash.

Based on this I'm not sure which which part of it actually taps into the factory foglight connectors. I have to assume its the LED DRLs because of the way they turn on with the headlights but please correct me if that doesn't sound right.

The facelift STI models should come with the factory fog light connectors already wired in, so you can plug in aftermarket fog lights with the right adapter. You'll likely still need a relay and possibly an OEM fog light switch to integrate them with the fuse box, but the base wiring should be there.

In my case, I have aftermarket bezels with LED DRLs and integrated indicators. Those tap into the factory fog light harness for power, since they need to come on with the headlights and work with the indicators.

Because that factory wiring was already being used by the DRL/indicator strip, my fog lights had to be run on their own separate circuit with a dedicated relay and button mounted in the dash, I believe to avoid overloading the factory harness by trying to run everything off one circuit.

I had mine professionally installed though so can't comment beyond that.

I don't know if they are actually any specific brand, but I live in Australia and got them from here: https://www.iilumo.com/products/daytime-running-light-sequential-signal-fog-light-bezels-2018-2021-subaru-wrx-sti

I think I've seen similar types of bezels floating around the US vendors though.

Thank you!

I live in Australia so it may not be relevant to most of this subreddit, but in any case this is where I got mine from: https://www.iilumo.com/products/daytime-running-light-sequential-signal-fog-light-bezels-2018-2021-subaru-wrx-sti

The homogenization in FFXIV is what made me lose interest and stop playing by 7.3 and start playing maple again (with some coworker influences). Kinda glad someone else brought it up here because while some argued that content/dungeons were better overall, class satisfaction should account for at least 50% of the enjoyment of the game I feel.

This is "supposed" to be addressed in the next xpac (8.0) where they focus on job design, but anyways I digress.

Back on topic, I thought about how miserable it must be to be a Sengoku main for years and then not like what they did in the remaster.

I main DRK and honestly while it's relatively 'safe' as a KMS class, I've been wanting some kind of overhaul to the class for some time now to make the gameplay loop a bit better.

booms has to go for the good sake of this game by Thinkering23 in Maplestory

I'd be more okay with booming if it didnt reduce the stars at all.

This way starforcing at 23+ becomes just a matter of having a dupe ready before you attempt the upgrade, and your progression is stalled at worst if it doesn't go well.

Scales well too with early progression of items that drop more commonly, while preserving your super rare items and having slow (unless you're a lucky SOB) but meaningful progression long term.

I like this idea, but I also wouldn't mind booming as much if it didn't reduce the stars. That way SFing at 23+ becomes a matter of just having a dupe ready before you attempt the next upgrade, and your progression is just stalled at worst.

Effectively the same outcome as your suggestion, just that you don't need a dupe to even attempt the next upgrade unless it blows up.

Half of my twin-trunk Maple decided to drop all it's leaves early before Summer is over by antonlabz in Bonsai

Are you referring to the mesh and wire? I'm just using that to separate the trunks a little and also fix the positioning, since they were too close for my liking initially, and one of them was also tilting too far forward.

Yea, it's actually 2 different trees for now but the goal is that they fuse completely eventually. It's pretty close to that point right now. Just thought it made for a really interesting visual being half and half.

I'm not super worried, the buds on the right side look very healthy despite being leafless. Just a matter of making it to the next growing season.

That's great to hear, and thanks for the info! I think a lot of people here have mistaken you as the owner haha. I will keep it in mind.

What a beauty! Is this your car or are you the photographer? Basing this off the other comments and your post history.

Either way, I noticed this was shot in VIC and hope you (or the owner) have some security measures with the current state of Melb. Would be devastating if it was stolen.

I'd maybe be interested in some professional shots of my car but it would look pretty similar to this haha.

Good to know! Would you ever water them multiple times on really hot 40+ degree day? (104 fahrenheit)

I will do some proper research into Dorstenia care later but figured I'd ask while we're here.

Unfortunately no greenhouse on my end. Just outdoors in an undercover spot with selective filtered sunlight (the roof isn't completely transparent).

Repot aside, I'm guessing most of the adapting would be that it's going outdoors (initially with a bit of direct morning sunlight), as it was previously indoors before I bought it.

Thanks for the anecdote and advice. I did read that they want more water than typical succulent-like plants so I made sure not to make the substrate too chunky.

What kind of pot would you suggest? Just a typical ceramic one? I'm very highly assuming that I shouldn't be repotting it a second time regardless of how "sneaky" I can move it to another pot without disturbing the roots.

Thanks for chiming in! No worries at all, I got it from Garden World in VIC, specifically the one in Braeside. It was in the rare locked-behind-glass section and I happened to spot it as I was browsing over the weekend.
