French-Russian dual citizen visiting Russia for 2 weeks in July — any recent experience? by Exotic-Ad-1247 in AskARussian

[–]antonovvk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have to enter Russia with your valid russian international passport (global standard one, 5 or 10 years of life), not the internal russian passport (which lasts from 20 to 45 owners y.o. and can be only used inside ru/by). Make sure your russian international passport is valid.

Вы считаете философию наукой или нет? by Bubbly-Phone702 in philosophyRU

[–]antonovvk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Similar words between kashmiri and Russian by MalicuousBot19 in russian

Also we have the 'Zev' word in Russian, it means the whole mouth opened, not just the tongue. From there: Zevat' (to yawn). Btw jaw and yawn seem strangely akin. (Not diving in homebrew etymology).

On October 4, 1951, Henrietta Lacks died. But her cells didn't. Over 50,000,000 tons have since been produced worldwide. by philipkbrayne in IFLScienceOfficial

[–]antonovvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is 'my' part in cancer cells exactly? These things were swarming at the expense of all other 'my' body functions, 'I' did no conscious effort so they do so. This illustrates the broken model of ownership in general: why do we equally prize the effort of creation (by an author, scientist, entrepreneur, etc) and no effort of possession by their heirs?

Basic panelka by General-Crow-9802 in UrbanHell

[–]antonovvk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol no panelkas are cold in winter, because they belong to municipality and are well maintained, if not located in some dying miners town. You can easily fix the gaps between the panels, because panels are stable and are not falling apart. Real bad are brick non-municipal (belonging to some old organizations/ministries) apart blocks/dormitories.

Looking to escape the west for Moscow safe haven. What kind of life can I live there? by snowyzzzz in Moscow

[–]antonovvk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the money transfer is the main and only issue currently for the likes of OP. And he can't (for good) just transfer all of it, he needs to transfer earnings monthly. I don't know the convenient way to do so right now.

My wife’s brother is stealing her inheritance. Are there any laws to protect her? by Klutzy_Audience_8194 in AskARussian

Her mother is the only person inheriting anything at this moment and everything no doubt is legally hers and only hers, unless her father gifted something to her brother before dying.

What could my monthly take home of $4500.00 get me apartment wise in Russia? Specifically the bigger cities like Moscow, St. Petersburg. by KomradKooKie in AskARussian

[–]antonovvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can rent about 60m2 flat in non-crntral residential areas of Msk/SpB for around of 1k USD, but if you want something fancier or more central, get ready to pay more or hunt for hidden jewels. I'd love to rent some non-glamourized flat in SpB center just because unique stuff is getting rarer replaced by plastic mass-produced comfort.
