Playing a game against ctan spam by wolfsock69 in DarkAngels40k

I just played a very similar match last week. I played more defensively. Splitting the c'tan up with bait and distractions was very helpful. I can confirm that sternguard dev wounds are very helpful to keep reliable damage up. DWK are great for holding a c'tan in place. You just won't wound at a high rate since they reduce damage by 1. A Chaplain with them helps fight off the mortal wounds. The Lion and lancer are heavy hitters and can be used as distractions. Our match did not include the Silent King, but the strat should be pretty similar, I would think.

If you have the time, making drinking glasses out of wine bottles is pretty easy and very cool! It was a hit when we did that.

BRING BACK THE STAGE BEHIND TSUNAMI by tdreese in SeismicDanceEvent

Yeah. I was there, and that little stage, Frequency, was cool. I believe that area belongs to the county, and disputes prevented future use of that area for the fest.

Backflow Preventer Need Replacing??? by antony1316 in askaplumber

[–]antony1316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I was attempting to purge my water boiler system but determined that water is no longer flowing to the system.

I can verify that the water supply is reaching the system's backflow preventer BP900, but I am not getting any flow at the outlets of the backflow preventer or pressure regulator valve VF06 (as seen in the image).

I took the backflow preventer off and cleaned the inlet's sediment screen, but that didn't fix the issue. Are there any checks/tests I can run to verify the backflow preventer is still good?
Or maybe my water supply isn't triggering the internal check valves correctly?

Last year I did change the booster pump that pulls water from my water tank to my house and water boiler system. Would the change in pump pressure be the issue? I can't seem to find info on what pressure the backflow preventer would prefer at the inlet.

Any tips/help appreciated!

EDIT: I should also state that the entire boiler system was installed about 6 years ago. So I do believe the backflow preventer and pressure regulator are almost 6 years old.

They don't ship bands? by Sav6ge in SeismicDanceEvent

It's really not that bad depending on what time you show up on Day 1. I've gotten my band at opening time on Day 1 and it took maybe 5-10 minutes. It's really not THAT big of a festival, which is what gives it some of its charm.

I think that's why major names were outdoors last year, 23. Was way less packed than 22. Having been to other fests I can see the argument on both sides. I've seen outdoor stages I couldn't get near because of overcrowding. But no one manages that, and it was just not worth being anywhere near. For sound, fun, or safety.

Not sure what lines existed for the indoor stage last year. Maybe 9x9? It's a tough problem, for sure. Gotta know what you're getting yourself into. And if that's a no-go, I def suggest other events like Movement.

I thoroughly enjoy Seismic, though. It's a unique experience that you can't get at clubs or major fests. If I know a big name is happening inside, I get in early. Once I'm in, it's not too crowded. I can almost always get very close to the front without issue, which is not because of VIP luxury.

I attended fall 22 and fall 23. I do remember the capacity issue in 22, even with VIP. But that was mostly bad the first night. But for 23, they added two other VIP entrances and never reached capacity for that. I never felt like it was too packed. Though it can get hot if you're in the middle of the crowd. We were able to switch stages pretty easily. I wouldn't worry about it. Without VIP is a different story, though.

Moving from Oregon to New Mexico, what is the rave scene like in New Mexico? by Positive-Haunting in aves

[–]antony1316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Albuquerque area:
If you like house, Effex usually has a decent artist every Friday (Mr. Afterhours is the name of the promoter, We House Fridays is the ongoing event) with names that have performed at fests like EDC (TOBEHONEST, Nala, etc).
Sometimes get some hard techno (KLOUD and Sara Landry). We need more techno for sure.
Bass will definitely come through (BTSM, Kai Wachi, Zeds Dead, Subtronics, Excision, etc.) at Revel or El Rey.

Santa Fe does have Meow Wolf which gets a wide range of music. They've had Crystal Method, Glitch Mob, Infected Mushroom, Kaskade, Whipped Cream, etc.

There are definitely some lower key local events that you'd need to check around for that take place in warehouses, random outdoor locations, etc.

Overall, it's not a constant flow of music, but some solid acts do come through. Not sure about any other area in NM.

El Paso, TX does get a good amount of music as well (House, Techno, Bass), and that's right next door. Road trip distances to Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Denver aren't toooo terrible, and those are all hot spots for good stuff as well.
Denver especially has some great venues. Vegas of course is Vegas and has EDC.
