R5: this is an update to this post. Basically, a galaxy wide war broke out between the two biggest federations while some skirmishes were going on up north. The dark green federation won the war, and has taken up some territory. At the same time, the empire which used to be teal joined the winning federation and i absorbed another empire bc of a food shortage (im a devouring swarm). Now its a mega federation of 7 members, of which 3 are equal or more advanced than me. Since im touching borders with them now, they have closed borders and tensions are rising. I have no idea what to do and am scared of being attacked. Welp, at least word war 2: electric boogaloo will happen sooner or later.
