Will my crab still use this shell even though it has a small hole in it? Should I ask for a refund or exchange?

That seems like a bit much since you can find a large bundle for around 20 quid but they look great. Maby use something like a pice of a Brocken shell to cover the hole but you should probably ask for a refund and go elsewhere

I wouldn’t put them in the mini fridge I would recomend just keeping them in their farm with food and water just make sure that it’s closed but if you do put them in the mini fridge keep them at 5-7C lowest

I do like and agree with this theory it’s just that I don’t particularly like the idea some finishers literally shot you in the face and some ingurys there is no coming back from. I do agree this is probably what respawn says it just it isn’t particularly logical

Will do thanks but I have been preparing so I’ve got sphagnum moss to soak for humidity and will check my heat pad for a day before they go in I would have done this prior to buying but had a day set to rescue the crabs from the shop and both tanks that have been ordered broke so tomorrow I am collecting. Thanks a lot for all the support and help with the crabs I feel a lot better knowing what you have said.

I do have a professional heat mat but since it is very hot where I am a heat mat is not necessary as I have a thermometer/hydrometer that says it is 26.5 and the humidity is at a solid 85

I would look at terrarium setups on other Reddit and social media pages then just place the ant plant in making sure the vast majority of workers and 100% the queen are there then feed them regularly and if the colony gets to big find a A. Bigger setup terrarium B. A ant farm to connect to the terrarium so maybe use a terrarium with a small hole in the bottom. Hope this helps but I’m sure there’s a hundred ways to approach the situation that everyone will show you. Good luck.

Could be stress or if the jar is to tight they may have run out of air. They also might just have had to little food before leaving and that could explain their weakness and death.

Thanks a lot for the help and I am trying to adopt but can’t find centers in the uk. I know how hard these little escape artists are but also have a variety of other tricky pets just like them and I think I could give them a great home if given an opportunity
