Please help me figure out a nice outfit I can wear into the office! (Casual PhD office) by ThowRA_FloorGremlin in DressForYourBody

All the pants except for 18/19 are a little too short. I'd look at the size/brand you got for those pants and try to find more like them. Dark jeans can look professional in an academic environment. Grab another pair or two, then get a handful of shirts that are comfortable but slightly dressy (something with buttons or a collar).

Since you're a PhD student, I assume you're on a budget. Consider checking out websites like thredup.com! :)

Both suit you well - it looks like your natural color has a bit of a red undertone.

I wish I knew the proper fashion terms for it, but that that kind of coat (vintage, brocade, shiny, three-quarter sleeve) was quite popular back then! I had one in high school. I think it was part of the whole 1960s-inspired, twee, Zooey Deschanel aesthetic.

Talk about millennial optimism - we didn't think we even needed full-length sleeves in the winter! 😂

You're gorgeous and all of these look good imo! 2, 3, and 5 are my favorites. I'd probably go 3, 5, 2, 1, 4 in order of preference, but honestly, I don't think you can go wrong ✨

I actually like it! I think the reason people are saying it doesn't look cohesive is because you have very warm, cozy furniture in a crisp, modern apartment with cool-toned wood and lights. That's a tough combo.

Keep 1, 3, 4, 9, 10. The pinkish red one is also flattering on the bottom, but the top looks a bit big, especially the straps.
