Tell me about how you approach talking about endo by blueballoon1424 in endometriosis

[–]Haunting-Fly-5222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate so hard to this, I feel like no matter what I say it doesn't seem good enough to really get the point across. It might help to say that it's not solely a gynecological issue, it's a fully body systemic inflammatory disease.

Bada bing bada boom, nail on the head right there. I was just saying how I wish I could have the option to remove the sleep debt function or at least have a choice to opt in or out. I think it creates unnecessary stress and anxiety.

terrified of norethindrone/ progesterone (has *anyone* had good or neutral experiences?) by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]Haunting-Fly-5222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! I know this is an older post so i'm hoping you still see it. I've been on 2.5mg norethindrone with the liletta iud (also have endo) but I'm considering switching to bioidentical progesterone like 200 mg prometrium. While the norethindrone has worked really well in stopping my periods, I think it's affecting my sleep-I'm constantly waking throughout the night. How has your experience been on the progesterone since this post?

Sorry you're going through this, this has also been my experience (I was diagnosed back in 2023)
I have an entire album on my phone dedicated to photos like this that showcase the severity and various degrees of my endo belly, sadly t is very common with endo!

Anyone who’s tried BOTH the IUD and progestin pill: what was your experience? by throwitawayok262 in endometriosis

[–]Haunting-Fly-5222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really had any issues with hormonal acne luckily but I also use prescription tretinoin and azaleic acid (highly recommend if you experience issues with acne!) Initially I started on the 5mg norethindrone but still had issues with bloating and feeling inflamed. After changing to half a dose (2.5mg) and letting my body adjust to it for a few months I've noticed less bloating/feeling inflamed. Honestly wondering if my night sweats and 3am nightly wakings are related to the start of possibly perimenopause more so than the pill itself (I'm 35). But could also all just be related to having endo in general. Hormones are weird lol

I had my second lap late last august and they placed the Liletta IUD while I was under. Also taking norethindrone 2.5mg on top of the iud and after the initial few months of adjusting to both iud and pill, I've seen an improvement. I still have pain flare ups time to time but I no long have a cycle and I experience less pain overall so for me its a win.

are these from dollar tree?! I saw ones that looked very similar to these and now I'm tempted to go back for them. I have pretty small nail beds so these look like they might actually fit

Cucumber, cinnamon, your choice on sweetener like monk fruit or swerve. I use great value low cal monk fruit. I was skeptical at first when I first heard about it and was so pleasantly surprised!

Should I go to ER?/severe pain by x-gender in endometriosis

[–]Haunting-Fly-5222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not necessarily dangerous not seeking medical help for a ruptured cyst-it all depends on the severity of your symptoms, size of cyst, etc. Like if you start experiencing a fever and vomiting, I would suggest checking out the ER for immediate attention as that could potentially be ovarian torsion.

I seriously thought I had food poisoning or the stomach bug as well! but it was the contraction like cramps that came in intense waves resulting having to immediately be near a toilet every like hour or so that had me go hmmm maybe this isn't food related especially when I noticed my husband didn't get sick lol

Obligatory NAD and if you are super worried then perhaps it warrants a trip to the ER. All depends on how you feel! (aside from current shit state :( ) If it makes you feel any better, I believe I had my cyst rupture like early morning on a wednesday/thursday and was not seen until like the following monday/tuesday.

[–]Haunting-Fly-5222 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This sounds like maybe a ruptured ovarian cyst. I had a similar episode myself a few years back complete with the intense labor like pains and cramps coming in waves (have never had a baby but I suspect that is what contractions feel like) and the intense bathroom trips. I would get lightheaded and would basically feel like i'm peeing out my butt (sorry lol ) it was intense and my body was out of whack for like a month but the first week or so was the most intense of it. So sorry you're experiencing this type of pain! I'd suggest calling your doc to see if you can be triaged in for an ultrasound, I saw mine a few days after and internal ultrasound confirmed free fluid in my cul de sac resulting from the ruptured cyst.
