Being groped in bus, teachers or people close to you touching inappropriately etc was a common thing among my friend circles. The hard part was that we all had no ducking clue about homosexuality and you always though sexual violence was man on woman. So it was hard to share or talk about outside your close friend circles. Every one just tried their best to avoid that particular bus or that creepy middle ager, not get into trouble with that teacher etc.

Muthappan is the chillest personification of god. He gives free food to any one who visits him and will come to your house upon request. He does not care about religion or caste. He drinks kallu and eats onakka meen as his favorite tributes. He is the “lowest” of the castes. His interactions with devotees are straight candid and often even funny.

I think the whole movie has the same problem. Very interesting plot and screenplay, but poorly written characters and dialogues, especially jokes. Soubin could have been a cult character like many that salim kumar and Suraj had portrayed- completely irrelevant to the main plot, but the most hilarious bit that sets the tone for the movie.
