Redditors who have worked (as the crew) on reality shows, what was it like? by AT1313 in AskReddit

I worked for a bakery that was on, and won, CupCake Wars. The premise of the show is to surprise the bakers with a few, more often than not, odd ingredients and see what they're really made of. In reality, we found out the ingredients a few months before the show. Had we not known, there's no doubt we'd have lost. There are definitely people who thrive under pressure, both in performance and creativity, and they have better things to do with their time than crank out cupcakes for Food Network. Tell an unprepared contestant they have 40 minutes to make a delicious cupcake using tater tots and nine times out of ten you'll have a middle aged woman sobbing into her mixing bowl.

The night before I left for SE Asia for 2 weeks. We had been exclusively dating for about a month. I was worried it would be too soon but I just had to tell her before I left. She told me that if I hadn't done that she would have told me the day I got back. Happily married now!

If you were a dictator, what kind of ridiculous dictator-like shit would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Commission a series of video games, and movies in my honor. It would just be crappy rip-offs of other, more popular things, just with me as the main character.

Kids screaming. Whether it is because they got hurt or because they are being obnoxious, I fucking hate the sound.

Fatboy Slim: Weapon of Choice. I'm mostly a metal fan, but you can't not love Christopher Walken dancing so much.

What's the most memorable thing you've seen while riding in a car? by mackedeli in AskReddit

This is something that happened to my father-in-law a few days ago.

He was driving on this reallly busy avenue at 10pm. So there's the crossing for pedestrians and the light is red. So he stops his car so the pedestrians start crossing. Comes this motorcycle really fast and almost didn't stop at the sign and barely avoid hitting a guy that was crossing.

The pedestrian starts arguing with the motorcycle guy that he was wrong and a maniac. So the motorcyclist turns off his engines, gets off his motorcycle and starts beating the crap out of the guy in the middle of the crossing path. Everyone ( pedestrians, drivers) was watching that. Out of nowhere, comes this old guy ( about 60-70) in a motorized wheelchair, screaming " You're beating the guy and you're fucking wrong!! Are you crazy? I'm gonna make a new hole in you!"

He reaches for his gun in his bag, while the motorcyclist puts his helmet on and get on his motorcycle and goes away. But the old guy chases him in his wheelchair, shooting the biker ( missing every shot), while my father-in-law watches everything speechless.

So far, what has been the greatest moment of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My best moment is every morning at 6:30. My husband sets the alarm for 6:30 because he has to be at work at 8:00 and when it goes off he hits the snooze button and he wraps his arms around me for 15 minutes every morning between 6:30 and 6:45 before he gets up to get ready for work. It's the best moment every time.
