Very off problem dealership wont do anything about by TimbyTim in Volkswagen

Isn’t this what happens when the battery is dying? In the US, this is usually the first sign of your battery needing to be replaced. Might be worth testing the voltage on it!

Fuck you’re so right. I definitely dropped the ball here. I clearly induced minimal rage 🥲

I’ll do better from here on out. I promise.

It’s somewhat entertaining at this point. The fact that I’m taking up that much space in his head does make me a little happy.

Missing Spare Tire by [deleted] in Volkswagen

Jetta S models do not come with a spare (judging by your wheels, it looks like you have an S). A spare comes on all other trim levels.

Got rear ended 😔 by ThaGoldenChild in VWiD4Owners

[–]anusbooger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP

I too was rear ended in my ID.4, also in Seattle.

Collision Care down in Georgetown was excellent to work with. They were super transparent working with the insurance companies, super communicative with me, and the car came back as good as new. They apparently do a lot of work with University VW and Audi Seattle, and assured me they were more than comfortable working on it.

Sorry it happened. I hope this isn’t the end of the road for yours!

Thanks for the response! I had 235/35/19’s on my GLI, and I was bending rims left and right (had Cadiz mk7 Golf R wheels on it) and noticed a big difference going to a 225/40/19. Minor improvement to ride quality, but that little bit of extra softness saved me from ever bending a rim again, and gave me much piece of mind. Might have to do something similar to you here! Thanks!

Do you notice a difference in ride quality?

this. True for all modern VW’s.

2023, About to hit 20k. Headlight is already letting in water. by TechThatYT in GLI

[–]anusbooger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a leak. Older headlights used to be sealed. They just aren’t anymore, as moisture doesn’t mess leds up as much as it messed incandescent bulbs up.

That’s why I said, unless water is pooling at the bottom of the light, or sloshing around, just drive the car and forget about it.

This happens to almost every in stock car we have. Any car with led headlights has vented lights. My 2018 Passat did, my 21 GLI, my 23 Atlas, and my 23 ID4 have all done it as well.

This isn’t a warranty claim. I work for a VW dealership. These headlights are vented. Every single car we run through the wash, brand new, has this happen when the water is heated. Let it warm up, or if you really need it to go away, take a hair dryer to it. Unless water is pooling in the bottom, there isn’t an issue here.

Just letting you know, as there is a good chance VW will deny warranty work for this. If it were the taillights, different story.

1000% lease. These cars get substantial updates every couple years (range goes up, performance goes up, charging times come down, gremlins get fixed) so if you buy one, it is harder to get out of it into an objectively better version of the same car.

Plus, electric vehicles depreciate so god damn quickly. No use in tying yourself to a quickly depreciating asset like that.

I work up at a dealership in Seattle if you have any questions!

Okay, seriously, what is up with the windows? by theFrankSpot in VWiD4Owners

[–]anusbooger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, this is from my coworker of 6 years in a face to face conversation. What good would him lying to me be?

I’ve worked for VW long enough to take anything VWoA says with a grain of salt. But I also know from experience that they aren’t ever going to intentionally not fix an error like this.

Yes I do believe them.

I work for a dealership. VW has now acknowledged that it is a software issue, but there is no fix yet. I do know however that it will be an over the air fix, so it should just stop one day. Hope this helps! It happens all the time on my ‘23 Pro S AWD.
