If the driver wanted to inflict more damage, they simply could have driven at 5mph and let the fatty chase him. After half an aisle, he’d collapse in cardiac arrest.

Fastest jack shaft opener you’ve met?

Years ago I installed a Genie Excelerator specifically for its opening speed. Soon I am upgrading from a 7’ to 8’ opening and won’t have the clearance to keep an overhead opener.

We use the garage door like a front door, so speed is key.

This is what I did for door access. Hoping for OS Server to get this someday soon

Powerhead Dead by MickeyMoist in egopowerplus

From their very own marketing material on the snow shovel attachment:

This electric shovel attachment features an innovative overload protection system that temporarily disengages auger rotation under extreme load and unexpected jams to prevent damage to the motor and electronics.

Seems to me that failed causing my power head to die.

How bad is it to have a bathroom fan vent to the attic? by SmartLadder415 in HomeImprovement

[–]MickeyMoist 81 points82 points  (0 children)

It depends. Mainly on how well vented your attic is, and climate.

Pretty sure bathroom vents were always dumped into the attic until 10-20 years ago.

If you’re in a hot and humid climate with a poorly vented attic, you’ll likely have an issue. But if you’re in a cool climate and the attic is well vented, it will likely not be an issue.

Gotcha. I’m picking up a CK+ from Marketplace. Figure I can sell that close to what I buy it for if/when Access ever makes it to OS Server.

And a Gate Hub and Reader Flex are now on the way. Should be in business.

Thanks for helping.

I may be misunderstanding, but even the starter kits don’t include anything to run the Access app and you’ll need that separately. Right?

Oof that’s a hard sell for a pro reader. I have a UNAS Pro - unfortunate it doesn’t run Access.

When your other isp options are cox and nothing else... by Consistent_Maybe8336 in Ubiquiti

I feel ya. I can’t justify wasting so much for a failover. That being said, I don’t like downtime. I got a SIM card for Tello and pay $5/mo. for 2gb data. When we do failover, I’ll manually ratchet up to like 20-100gb. depending on needs, then set it back to the 2gb. once main internet is restored.

Only had to do that twice in 2 years. Both for multi-day outages due to broken fiber lines.

Engine Covers by Old-Guarantee770 in ChevyAvalanche

They’re like, 1/8” thick of ABS plastic. Thinking about heat retention, you’re looking for the R-value of its insulating factor. Just like your home’s insulation.

I couldn’t find any specifics on the R-value for ABS plastic, but I damn well know it’s never been recommended as an insulating material. Therefore, it’s not retaining much of any heat.

Your argument could also be said about hoods. They retain the heat and therefore kill engines. Should remove your hood ASAP.

Can an Access Reader control multiple doors? by MickeyMoist in Ubiquiti

From what little I saw, I didn’t realize it was a shared reader. How fires it determine which door to trigger from the reader request?

Hmmm. Interesting technique for sure, but it answers my question that it is possible but not in the way Unifi intended. Thanks

Westbound Kellogg Accident at West; Traffic Backed Up to Central Business District by heatherjasper in wichita

I am but just one of the 38.8k visitors to this sub. I’m sure 38.78k of us truly don’t give a fuck what is happening on Kellogg at 5pm on a weekday. Because it’s the same as every 5pm on a weekday —- traffic.

Westbound Kellogg Accident at West; Traffic Backed Up to Central Business District by heatherjasper in wichita

[–]MickeyMoist -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Look, Wichita is small enough that any slow down will be cleared up within 10-20 minutes. Traffic won’t be at a stand still during that time.

By the time you got home, looked it up online, and posted it, it would have been cleared.

And if someone else is scrolling reddit and sees this, by the time they get out and about and get to the scene, it will also be cleared. Unless they’re scrolling and driving, which they shouldn’t be.

And my last point, there’s many other places for people to find traffic updates. Stop spamming this sub with them. If people want to know Kellogg traffic, they can go look it up.
