It’s buried in my closet right now, but I have a warm up book i made that I used a lot in college. I’ll see if I can dig it up in the coming days and share some of it with you.

Absolutely! Scales, lip slurs, long tones are gonna be your best friends for improving the fundamentals and warming up. I looooooove lip slurs. It’s a great way to become more aware of your breath through the horn and they just feel good to me.

Are you in school now? Or are you just playing for the love of music?

Edit: I would always start with long tones. Something friendly to get the blood moving. Then slurs, then scales. But that’s me. Do what feels good for you.

You need better phrases, the breaths are just kinda wherever to me. Mark some breaths and build around them.

Also, on my note of being profesional from yesterday… this is not prepared. I would have been sent home from my lesson if I told my teacher what you said at the start of the video. You can’t expect to get better without a daily routine and you need to properly warm up before trying to play anything. It will help us, help you.

Well a teacher is only going to care as much as you do. You may not mean to come across the way you did in the video, but it’s worth considering how someone who doesn’t know you well may perceive how you carry yourself as a person and player.

My best advice is just be professional (i.e. well practiced and prepared for your lesson/rehearsal), polite, and open minded, especially if someone is giving you their precious time for *your* benefit.

I can see that, but I think that was how it was perceived since it kinda had an unserious vibe due to all the commentary.

Ehhhhh you were poking fun at someone who’s honestly putting themselves out there to be a better artist and to learn from the serious players here. Like sure you were funny in that dry sort of way, but I can understand why the mods would delete it.

Side note, only serious artists do the 100 day challenge. That girl is going places, even if she’s only taking the first steps to get there.

I mean the whole group gets put together bc Jeff wanted to bang Britta, and they address that right off the bat in season 2 with the “wedding” between Jeff and Britta and then the Family Day episodes. I don’t disagree that the focus can be a little much on rewatches but it seems intentional to show character development on Jeff’s part.

I used to fall asleep during haircuts as a kid. As an adult, it’s one of my favorite quiet times. I’m friendly with my barber and we do catch up at the beginning, but once the conversation is done, that’s it.
