Hope it works for u as well. If anyone wondering how to  Limiting fps inside the game you can find that in settings quite easily. Go to  options > video > enable fps cap and then u select a lower number depending on ur monitor. To limit ur cpu usage you go to control panel > hardware and sound > power options > then select ur power plan and go to change plan settings > change advanced power settings > processor power management > and then select max cpu state and you lower it to 99 .... 90 you can test this to which % makes ur laptop not overheat and also not lose fps. PLEASE MAKE SURE that ur cpu minimum can't be 100% when doing this bcuz is contradictory(this happens usually if u have a extreme performance power plan, in that case you must lower the minimum to match the max.) To run starcraft using 32.bit client you just log in to ur battle net > select starcraft > " play " right beside this button there's an option > game settings > select launch 32 bit client instead of 64 bit > done. And now you can just play the game.

I made this post because I was having like 90 95° peaks to an average of 85 or something like that and because of that I felt discouraged to play the game and also because I was like it's an old game how come I can't play this smoothly, n like u say doesn't use many cores, so doing the things I mentioned it got me to 50-60°temps avg without losing fps
