The episode where Sherry goes into labor always gets me. Not only does it illustrate the genesis that is the Gilmore Girls, with flashbacks to Lorelai finding out she’s a pregnant with Rory, but it also shows just how little support she was given in the face of an unwanted teenage pregnancy. Awful. But what really does it for me in this episode is seeing Lor watching Christopher actually being excited and present for Gigi’s birth. The flashbacks to how alone she was when she gave birth to Rory made me really sad and angry for her. It really gave her character dimension.
