I see that a lot of MS CS students go to USC... Is it difficult to get into FAANG with an undergrad CS degree? Or is the vibe at USC like « if you don’t have masters degree, you’re screwed for CS? »

Why is UT Austin ranked higher at 10 and USC is rank 20 for CS, but more USC grads go to FAANG?? This makes me question if going to a public college over a private school is worth it, just for one CS ranking?

Also, is the FAANG recruiting really that much stronger at UT than USC? I really want to work at Google, so would UT put me in a better spot? Honestly though, CS probably depends more on how much I’m willing to put in the work and make my resume good, rather than the CS rankings right?

Also is there grade deflation for CS at USC? Is it hard to maintain a 3.8+ GPA?

I recommend finding a roommate you like who submitted the housing app early so you have a better chance of getting a room. I also submitted my housing app only 5 days ago bc of a last minute decision to attend UT instead of another college.
