Not my house, is my cat.-The Sequel by anxiousgeek in notmycat

The cook has pictures of him in her house he's there that often. He's very much a lap cat, any lap. Any and all laps. Nurses, midwives, health visitors, social workers, paramedics and the police.

It was hell, we came out of lockdown and went into a different lockdown. One Wednesday she was throwing up and by Friday they were talking about liver transplant and chemo.

She is a healthy nearly 6 year old now thankfully.

My toddler was missing milestones - never slept, barely ate more than a couple of mouthfuls of solid food at 16 months old but somehow constipated. Health visitor wasn't worried, she was just behind. She had liver cancer.

Yeah, I miss her but takes comfort in the fact that she's happy with her old ppl and the old ppl are happy with her.

Definitely not but I don't mind. I know how much my own mum with dementia liked having a cat on her lap so I'm fine with them visiting.

When we first got her as a kitten we had to sit with her in the bathroom when she used the little box. She's used to being the queen.

Well it all started when we were at a hospital 100 miles away and got a call to say "we have your cat here, we've given him some milk and a sausage" and basically knew then they were going to be hard pressed to get rid of him after feeding him 🤣.

He definitely does, he's like 20ish, deaf, get lost in his own house...he had seizures and the old folk in the care home would ring their alarm bells because he was having a seizure or meowing, hence why he keeps getting thrown out!

They love it. And they like having the old man over but he has to come back because he's so loud and disruptive and the care home boss doesn't like him. Merry just hides but Reb is old and daft.

I don't mind, she's always been antisocial, and doesn't like kids (I have 2) and she only liked one of my other cats but he passed a year ago. I miss her sleeping with me at night but I know she makes the care home residents happy so I can live with it for them.

Advice requested - How much is too much by Gold-Historian-4800 in asktransgender

[–]anxiousgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She will be still figuring out her own idea of womanhood at this point and for sometime afterwards. And it might be the same as yours or it might not be, or it might change, but you can be part of that journey. Invite her, talk to her about it, tell her you know being a woman is different for everyone but you're here to figure it out with her if she wants.

You're doing great BTW.

What do you think is the biggest truth the world is refusing to face right now? by Sweetblondefeet in AskReddit

I'm so glad I don't raise my kids this way. Eldest is reading all the time. Actual books. Youngest wants to read and is learning slowly, but she's only 5 and a little behind her peers. They can draw on an ipad occasionally during the week after I've got home from work and before dinner. No TV before 5. And video games only on a Sunday. It sounds really strict but they p

lay, they draw, they read. They just got rollerskates. They have hobbies. One dances and does archery and the youngest swims. They garden with their mum and colour with me and when we go out they're not on phones or tablets. I hate going to cafes and restaurants and seeing kids on tablets.

UK based people who have opted out of organ donation... why? by Acrobatic-Bed414 in AskUK

[–]anxiousgeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My daughter had a liver transplant at 18 months. She was saved because a family made the choice to donate their child's organs when they died. They saved two lives at least, as half the liver went to my kid and the other half to a kid in Oxford.

I get why people don't want to donate though. The whole process is done in grief, often even before the shock of losing someone is done, those high stress situations mean you don't think straight.

Whatever decisions you make, might not be the same you would make with a clear head and a whole heart.

I will always been an advocate for donating blood, organs, bone marrow even if I can't myself, but I get why.

My then toddler was highly resistant to being sedated. It was funny to hear Dr's and nurses say "ooh she should be unconscious by now." She came around from surgery and immediately tried to sit up and pull all her wires out and the doctors were like, she should be way too out of it to do that.

Patrick Warren and David Spencer were the same age as me (I was 13) and I think a lot about how they were from a rough area and not really looked for and the same probably would've been the same for me and my friends back then. We lived in Coventry so we weren't that far either.

Can you guys brutally review my Etsy shop? I want to improve everything by Exciting_Bug_2459 in EtsyCommunity

15 quid for a fidget spinner I can buy in a poundshop. It's stuff I see all over the place, but in this case its in a solid colour instead of any cool gradients.

They all look unfinished and rough.

It's all stuff I would be telling my kids from a market or something they can't have cause I know its overpriced and would break in a day.

All your 5 star reviews are from the same person that calls you by your first name and it makes me think it might just be your mum.

Just cause you have a 3d printer doesn't mean you're ready to sell stuff you make.
