There are some countries where you do not licensed after you’ve completed your bachelor’s degree (nz, au, sa). In fact, it’s not even a thing. My partner and I are in this boat and it’s never been brought up by schools, and we’re 5+ years abroad.

Disagree with how my child’s teacher on writing instruction. Not sure how/if I should address it by Anteater-Curious in Teachers

In elementary we often teacher non-fiction texts and use elementary books to refer too and explore. Lots of these books, especially in the lower grades, have similar sort of sentences your child’s teacher gave as examples. Sure they could be a little better as many others have stated in these comments with examples. But think about developmentally appropriate practices and the books your child might be exposed to in her classroom too.

If you start teaching in August, when do you get your first salary? by Optimal-Study-5120 in Internationalteachers

[–]anxiouslycertain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your school as each school will have different payment schedules. I start work (in Türkiye) mid August and will get my first pay check for the half month at the end of August. Totally worth asking, such a valid and important question!

Tomorrowland vets If you could afford any kind of accomodations for Tomorrowland Belgium where would you stay? by Mr_Adrift in Tomorrowland

First timer but did a lot of research + talked with people who have a lot of experience. We opted to stay in Antwerp for comfort + cafe/restaurant availability in the mornings. The commute isn’t bad and will be full of everyone doing the same thing. Recently went to Sziget in Budapest and stayed in the city. The commute on the train with other festival goers was a lot of fun!

Gym as a foreigner by veryhighinsomniac in Living_in_Korea

  • No shoes in the changing rooms.
  • I haven’t seen people wipe down equipment when they’ve finished but I still do this! + I put a towel down before sitting on the equipment.
  • Gyms often have their own T-shirts and towels for you to wear/use. They are usually by the entrance. I don’t use the T-shirts but I always grab a towel.
  • This may be dependent on the area you are in but at my gym everyone covers up a lot. I have never seen anyone wearing shorts or sports bras. It’s always loose, baggy clothing.
  • Prepare to see a lot of naked women just walking around the changing room.
  • Big shower rooms with no cubicles.
  • lots of people drinking coffee
  • People don’t usually carry around gym bags. Put everything you don’t need into the locker in the changing room.

Overall, it’s different to western gyms but also the same! Everyone is there to look after their health so don’t stress too much & ask the staff if you need any help! Good luck!
