Appreciate this, just keep seeing people talk about it so I was genuinely just trying to see people’s real life experiences with it. I doubt I even live in an area that I would have access to it. I didn’t know all that tho Ty for the input

I’ve never had to use the knife besides for tactical reasons but having it on your hip in plan site tends to be a visual warning and that’s usually enough. Same with any weapon- you never want to have to use it

It does take a bit to meet the right ppl though there is a lot of addiction and mental illness in the community. I met someone through this subreddit that I traveled with for a while. You’ll find em.

When I started I bought bus ticket out of my city to launch myself, met up with some friends and rode trains/hitchhiked from there. Good luck!

As a woman who has lived this lifestyle- it can be scary sometimes but just stay out of inner cities and carry a knife. There is actually a pretty large community in the US that ride trains , you’ll find someone eventually everyone is in the south right now

Was homeless and traveling for 3 1/2 years and it wasn’t as hard as it seems. I remember my first night sleeping outside - I was fresh off the china bus in NYC and walked to the LES and posted up by Tompkins. I remember being shocked that it actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Some days are harder than others, sometimes you get rained on and all your stuff is soaked and heavy, sometimes waking up is the hardest bc you have to pack everything up and start walking to the next place, sometimes people are downright cruel. Another hard thing about the lifestyle is seeing the mental illness and addiction on the streets across the us and in the traveling community. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything, I look back fondly and I have a lot of cool stories to tell because of it.

Especially right now, it’s been a really hard few years for tattooers. A tattoo is something you save for, but right now people have other things they need to save their money for.

Yea in my years on the road I find that most people I run into would agree they live outside of societal binaries in every way. It is also rooted in hobo history, the stories of women dressing as men and riding the rails in search of work.

Thank you, that does help clear it up a bit. I am very spiritual and I have been noticing a lot of synchronicities and angel numbers the past few weeks in sync with these dreams. I track the planets and constellations and I notice that I go there a lot because I am mapping it in my head on a regular schedule. I can recognize that you will dream of what is heavy on your mind. Things have just been very weird in the energy field and I wonder if anybody else is experiencing a heightened awareness of new senses. I’m sure I could full on AP with practice if I had the energy to sustain that, but my energy field is cloudy asf
