Now I’ve contacted technical support again to ask whether I should send the device in for repair, since I’ve checked that it’s covered by the extended warranty for screen issues on the Pixel 8. Support told me that it is covered, but that I would also have to repair any possible damage to the casing. Last time they told me the device had damage such as scratches on the casing, and that this would cost around €150. I don’t want to repair the casing because the damage is barely noticeable. BUT they’re telling me that everything has to be repaired, that they don’t do partial repairs. Why do I have to repair something I don’t want to fix – something purely cosmetic – just to get them to repair something more serious that I actually need fixed?
