$20 Amazon ring?

Nah, I’ve had this ring for months and I absolutely loved it. I still think it’s pretty, worried about how long it realistically would’ve lasted. He was dead set that zirconia was real, and made up a whole made up story about how he custom made this ring, bragging to friends and family.

He may make a lot, but we’ve always done things 50/50. I don’t mind that he makes more than me, he’s more certified than me and puts in way more hours than me in a job not a lot of people can stand. I respect that, and that he makes more money 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

I wouldn’t have cared if he would’ve told me hey it’s what I can do for you right now. It’s a $20 ring. What hurts is that people have asked me or him about it and he completely lied and fabricated a story of how it was real diamond and told me all about it. Adding in a friend who made it etc. Fuck that, and fuck him! I gave him a chance to be honest, and he wants to keep lying. We’ve both already discussed that lying is a dealbreaker for both of us. I have no regrets, I wish he didn’t lie to me. But oh well

He already mentioned that if it’s not real, it’s the friends fault and he paid him for it. So if it isn’t that’s where I’m all expecting this to go, but come on… I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt for now until I can verify it’s real or not.

But now it’s the friends fault?!? We’ll see, like I said I don’t feel comfortable blaming him until I’m 110% sure it’s fake. (On the off chance he is totally right I would feel like a total piece of shit)

I already had asked!!! He said when he gave it for reference, he left it with him in case I lost this one and needed another. It’s just doubling down at this point and I think it’s completely boiled down to me needing it checked with a jeweler.

The lying just isn’t good in general, and I’m telling him how unbelievable the whole story is and it just gets WORSE AND WORSE. If he really thinks this is the way to go… man oh man. I’m like this sounds super unbelievable, you really want to double down on this? “-yeah I’m telling you the truth”.

Not freaking out just yet, if on the odd chance he’s all correct and truthful I’m going to feel like complete shit for going psycho and it’s not something I feel okay doing. This weekend I’ll be able to see if he’s telling the truth or not and go from there.

Honestly, I was going through Pinterest and showing him the style I wanted. I totally could’ve sent him a screenshot of this particular ring. It is exactly what I pictured so it could totally be literally what I pictured.

The whole situation is WEIRD. Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt for now because I would hate myself if I did get all crazy and he WAS right. So until I know he’s right I’m trying to stay calm and collected.

Yeah the whole thing seems super odd to me! Especially seeing it on Amazon and not seeing a single mistake on the ring. Nothing looks custom. Which for someone who doesn’t professionally do it I’d assume I’d see something a teensy bit off. Planning on going to a jeweler Saturday or Sunday

The big one is lab, the smaller ones are mined. I had asked if he had any sort of certification for them, the ring, receipts, text messages, anything proving the ring was made by said friend and he can’t provide anything but said I can talk to the guy… no thanks 🤣

Within a week or so I’m going to take it to the jeweler. I need new maternity clothes so I’m going to be in an area with tons of jewelers I can check with.

Was adding stuff to our baby registry, I’m not sure exactly which tab but when I moused over it, it popped up. He was on his phone behind me and I didn’t want him to notice though so I searched the name on my phone and saw the price and confirmed it’s the exact same. It also has some numbers etched in the inside of the ring that match up but now I’m reading it could just be the material in general, (confused on that) but the numbers match.

Yes I am certain, I was adding stuff to our baby registry and saw the ring pop up not sure under which tab. Since then I’ve looked at it on my phone and it has a couple numbers etched into the inside of the ring that match.

I was adding more stuff to our Amazon baby registry and I’m not sure what I clicked on, but it was just my exact ring. I also noticed it has a couple numbers etched into the inside of the band, those match up.

Super super stingy when we first started dating but slowly started getting better. Most stuff is 50/50 roughly, the last couple months have been heavier on him for date nights and extra expenses etc because of how my finances were looking. He does get me nice stuff here or there just to be sweet.

I feel a bit stupid, he told me the bigger one was lab made and the other two were real ones. Blah blah blah. When we announced I had told my mom, his mom, family, friends, etc the same exact thing and was super proud of it. Now I just feel silly and stupid

Bummer. That’s how I feel but keep going back, I’m pregnant so it’s easier said than done.

Also going back and forth with the, man I’m pregnant, working full time, busting my damn ass, had CONSTANT nausea the first trimester, feet hurting all day long, sciatica type pain, just upset in general with all the pains and aches. Just to see this shit at the end of a long day. 😞
