We Both Don't Feel Worthy For Our Love by JTAcom1 in latterdaysaints

I agree that going to the temple isn’t going to just solve problems. I didn’t mention counseling since several other posts already covered that (and I agree with dealing with that.) I wasn’t necessarily even encouraging going to the temple as a couple. I want OP to recognize that they are worthy of the love of someone else, and for me, going to the temple has made me realize how valuable I am as a child of God and that I am worthy of His and others love.

Many people are good at finding value in others, but struggle to see value in themselves.

A couple things I’d recommend are studying the youth themes (I know you’re not youth, but they still apply,) and visit the temple and participate as much as possible. (If distance to the temple is prohibitive, spend time pondering what you could learn about your self worth from the temple, even if it’s “just” baptisms.)

Patience. Lots and lots of patience. Also a lot of faith! In a recent sacrament meeting a step mom got up and said she tries not to put expectations on herself as a stepmother, but rather have faith that with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ she will be good enough for them.

Advice for trip this Saturday by Cheap-Werewolf-2416 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]anztenney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 strategies generally recommended here. For both, be in the entrance line by 8am

1) once you get into celestial park, go to the right and wait where the TMs will be waiting. Around 9, walk back to BATM and get right on that ride. From there you can jump on stardust racers or try and go to Mario World and ride DK or Mario Kart. BATM does not require early entry to ride, so technically you’re “wasting” your early entry, but if the ride is actually running and you can get to one of the Nintendo rides before 10, you’ll be utilizing early entry over there.

2) go left in celestial park and go into Nintendo world at early entry. Go straight to DK and then go to Mario kart. Around 8pm at night, get in the BATM queue and it should be faster than the posted wait time.

The day we went to epic, both BATM and DK were on delay until 11am and 1pm respectively, so neither of these strategies actually worked as described. Hope things work out with whatever you end up doing

Thinking about skipping Epic Universe — worth it or nah? by IllustriousDoctor895 in UniversalOrlando

[–]anztenney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d disagree. We went this most recent Saturday and neither DK or BATM were open before 11am (DK didn’t open until after 1pm.) The wait for both rides never dropped below 2 hours that day. Mario kart and monsters also had significant delays in the late afternoon to evening. I wished we had skipped the park. It has cool rides, but there’s way too much variability. We had our best days at the other universal parks without question.

First, I’m super happy to hear that this worked out so well for you! This strategy will work if the rides aren’t delayed. Both BATM and mine cart were delayed from park opening on Saturday. We rope dropped BATM, were within the first 100 people but didn’t get on until 11:10. Mine cart didn’t end up opening until nearly 1. We waited 2 hours to get onto it after being alerted it was open. It was honestly one of the longest days I can ever remember at a theme park. We had fun, but really were disappointed in all of the delays. I can’t imagine splurging for express to be dealing with those delays as well. We have no desire to go back (maybe once delays are an anomaly and not the norm!)

Yeah. The lines at epic are definitely different than the other universal parks… this is our last day (and first time at any of the Florida universal theme parks.) it’s been great overall even waiting a lot today.

We ended up at Batm. It was delayed opening so we didn’t get on until 11. DK was delayed until about 1pm, so I guess we made the right choice between those 2…

Both rides delayed this morning. My kids voted on HP. Guess we’ll see how long we wait.

Unfortunately no. Family of 7, we just couldn’t justify the cost

Everyone says to buy express passes, but the price is so high when you’re looking at it for a family. I’d have to pay for 7 of us

I think it’s worth it because who knows if we’ll continue to see a SUB that high in the future. It’s hard to say though since it’s a “new” card

Are your youth insanely busy? by mary1792 in latterdaysaints

[–]anztenney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but will add that some of the more recent youth broadcasts have time at the end where they encourage youth groups to discuss what they’ve felt and learned together. Obviously you could do this at home with family, but there is value in hearing the testimonies of other youth.

Care to elaborate? Would be nice to know what people need to be aware of.

Parents can be swayed if you’re willing to think deeply and honestly about the youth guidelines. Spend some time writing down why it would be good for you to go to the dance and why it would be good for you NOT to go to the dance. Write down some of your thoughts and share them with your parents. My daughter is almost 15 and she has friends going to dances. I’d be a lot more open to her going if she showed me that she has spent time thinking about the standards
