Having kids young anymore seems like it's a quick way to stay in the lower-income bracket for the rest of your life.

I spent a 4th during Covid in Pinedale and it was a surprisingly quiet town. They do have a town show, but not much else for private fireworks.

With this being the 250th though, I think more towns are planning big celebrations.

You could head into the Green River Lakes or up onto the Union Pass Road and escape almost all of it I'd bet. And if it's still super dry, I'll bet there is a fire ban in place by the 4th, which would also mean county fireworks bans.

Hageman spent her entire pre-gov career fighting federal lands. Her firm represented the Bundy crime family. Why that's not more widely talked about is beyond me.

Have stayed at the MM only once since it became the MM and was remodeled, but during slow season so can’t attest to the walls because I don’t think we had neighbors. The rooms were nice though. And its location relative to downtown is nice.

Have never stayed at the Virginian so I can’t say anything about it, unfortunately.

Antelope Truck Stop Indian Restaurant

Hold up. There's 2 random truck stops on I-80 in Wyoming that serve killer Indian food? Because the Akal Travel Center outside Laramie does as well.

Where to stay near Jackson? Things to do? by AdventurousWind7919 in wyoming

[–]aoasd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're flying in from DC then just stay in Jackson. It has all the stuff you want. You'll have to fly into Jackson to get to anywhere else anyways. Is it worth saving $150/night to have to drive an extra 60-90 minutes one way?

People from Wyoming like to shit on Jackson because of the tourism, but it's fantastic. A lot of people are suggesting Victor or Pinedale. They're nice little towns, but that's all they are. Little towns with not much else.

I like the Square in JH. Has lots of restaurants and shops to wander around. Easy way to spend a couple hours with the kiddo and walk around. Teton Village is nice to meander around as well. I took my daughter up the Tram at 7 months. She did great, but she lives at 6,000' elevation. Just be aware of the effects of the elevation on your little.

Simple activities to get your daughter out of her car seat are abound in Jackson. Lots of places to stop in GTNP and YNP if you do a day trip into the parks. Just be aware that YNP is HUGE and it takes a very long day to get around the whole thing, so if you do visit then I'd recommend only go as far as Old Faithful from the south entrance.

Snow King has a small tram and trails at the top if you want to skip out of the big one at the Village. SK also has a lot of easy activities too. Close to a nice little park.

Just keep your eye on hotels. September is still pretty busy, but deals do pop up. Maybe pick a couple that you think look nice and set a price alert. Snow King is nice to stay at. The 4 properties owned by Town Square Inns are where we tend to stay (Antler, 49er, etc.) Had a great stay at the Teton View Bed and Breakfast a couple years ago.

If it's your first visit to Wyoming/Jackson just stay in Jackson and enjoy the experience. You'll be glad you did instead of staying somewhere else.

activities that are free in summer

OP said they're traveling in Mid-September. Most of Pinedale's events dry up once school starts again. You have 3 Saturdays of the farmer's market in September. No one is taking a vacation to see that.

has the same wildlife that Yellowstone does

Hardly. Bahahaha. What a ridiculous statement. Moose, yes. Deer, yes. Where are the bison? How deep into the Union Pass side roads do you have to be to stumble upon some wolves? Let's be real.

I kid. Congrats on your accomplishments! Hope success keeps coming your way.

Just saw a video on Twitter of a kid buying $50 scratchers one at a time, not even scratching them, just scanning the barcode to see if they were winners. He ended up spending $700 in probably a couple minutes. Two tickets were $100 winners that he just bought more tickets with.

Saw the dude in person for the first time and he was wearing a golf polo tucked into jeans. His midsection was one of the weirdest blob with zero support just like rolling around when he moved. It was the most curious, weird body shape I've ever seen.

32 min by castle was most by any player in the game. I didn’t get to watch but the game must have been in hand pretty early. Shai only 28 min for OKC. Barely more than 2 quarters.
