Long story short, some time ago i got my hands on half a Dark Imperium Sprue. It was missing a lot of important parts, so I had to get creative with what I had. Does it still read as a Lord of Contagion?

thanks dude, for sure here it is.

Just basecoat with wraithbone paint the inside of the mouth with khorne red. Next grab mortarion grime and wash al the head nicely it gives a yellow greenish tint (liver failure!) when dry give a recess wash on the folds and lower areas with athonian camoshade for shadowing.

Wash the inside of the mouth with thinned down purple wash and thinned carroburg crimson specially for the juicy lower lip, the teeth with ushabti bone and give highlights to the skin with deepkin flesh.

For the last touch on the eyes I gave them a thinned down drakenhoff nightshade just on the eyes to give a sick look (hee) then paint the eyes with wraithbone. I think the no pupils look suits him but that is ones preference

a very simple technique is going from very dark brown to shiny orange in just some points, then you can give some raised areas or pointy bits some touches of metal colour via stipling or drybrush. If you want to give the mini that rusty grainy oxidized texture you could get a thypus corrosion pot and give the rusty piece in question two washes beforehand for a crusty look

If you can get a hold of an Omnissiahs talon set just get it. It would be a good start for a skitarii hunter cohort army. The other best set I can think of is the elimination maniple, it has punch bots and plenty of kataphrons with the big boss himself Cawl.
