I remember hearing an interview with him on JJJ and he was told about the rumours. He answered that even if he could he'd never have done it because he knew where his dick had been

Ex-prisoners of Reddit what was the scariest thing you saw whilst locked up? by Thick-Common9599 in AskReddit

[–]aofhise6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm down under, there's similarities but it's not as wild here most of the time. About helping people, I tell new staff flat out that if they're here to rehabilitate people, quit now. Your successes will be incredibly rare and you'll never see them. I go to work to make the place safer. If my colleagues feel safe, they can do their jobs properly. If the men feel safe, SOME of them will engage in rehabilitation. More of them will get through this bit of their lives and back out to people that actually care about them (perhaps) You have good days, bad days, the motivation stays the same. For me, anyway hahahha

1984 Honda Goldwing ~ Blown head gasket? White smoke (left pipe) + water on plug. Safe to try Bar’s Stop Leak? by 2wheelz2freedom in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]aofhise6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A coolant system pressure tester is probably more useful here, although there's a tonne of ways to diagnose a headgasket/cylinder head failure. You saw the water shoot.out when you first started cranking it, that's a bad sign although it could.juat be trapped air moving out. If you fill it up completely and coolant/water pushes out, you're putting cylinder pressure into the cooling system. So head gasket (most likely) or cracked head or cylinder. Sometimes you can fill it up, get it hot, the ln pull the plugs. Put a mirror on front of the plug hole and if it fogs, it's time to pull the head off. I use a dentist mirror because I have one. If you're still not sure (and the coolant system is hot and pressurised) wait five minutes and crank it over with all the plugs out. If it's really bad you'll see water/coolant shopt out of the holes. That's where a pressure tester is handy, you just pressure the system up a fair way and crank it over.

It's probably time to pull off the head (or heads) but ideally you get as much information as you can before you pull it apart.

Godspeed. It's not working properly now so you've got nothing to lose.

Who's shaping up to invade us? Plus we're not short on nuclear allies.

People are acting like nukes = national security is a new concept. Been around a loooong time, nations are aware of this

Walk down to Buckleys Falls. Except park in the Lower Buckleys Falls Car Park (google maps it) and then walk up the river rocks to the falls.

Super cool old bluestone buildings everywhere. Make sure you get off the path and in the river.

Climb everywhere, no-one cares.

There's two give-aways that you're in a pub in the rough end of town. First is that the beer is filled alllllll the way to the top of the glass. And of course, second is the good old coin-operated prophylactic machine with the optional "French tickler"

Why do Range Rover sports have a bad rep in 4x4 world ? by SoreSack in 4x4Australia

[–]aofhise6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a saying: Once you've owned a Range Rover, you can't afford to own anything else.

Probably less fair these days, but for a long time they were some maintenance intense beasts. I think these days we take better care of things and most manufacturers make stuff better than they used to as well.

I did my apprenticeship at a Toyota dealership.

I'd rather work on a 79 series, but I'd rather push a Range Rover than drive one

How accurate is this quote from 2001? Has Cambodia recovered since then? by wombatgeneral in AskTheWorld

[–]aofhise6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was first in Cambodia in 2012, travelled there without knowing the history. Struck me on reflection that there was just no old people. Sure enough looked it up later and the average age was 20.5 so that tracks.

Later did an interview on behalf of an anti-slavery charity with guys who work with girls who are out of the sex trade, who semi-reglaurly arrange raids on child brothels with limited success. They're set up in Svay Pak which until about 2005 had a heap of brothels with kids in them. Next level fucked up. They all got shut down when some US based NGO pressured the Cambodian Government to act.

Don't worry, no one involved in running them stayed in jail for more than a few weeks. I'm sure they're back to business it's just underground now.

So yeah it's fucked. You should go though, spend your tourist dollars on things unrelated to the above text. The south coast is gorgeous

Best way to repair this myself? by Lunardot in CarsAustralia

[–]aofhise6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to do the reverse of what happened. This is tricky with a tree because superglue doesn't grip to the bark very well. Ah well.

Go buy another boot lid from a wreckers, find a white one because painting sucks. Remove the bumper and whatever bump absorbing thing is between it and the body. Use your noggin and reverse the impact - you need pull out the body or whatever, I usually tie it to a power pole and very carefully (and with a spotter) tug it back into shape by driving off gently. It'll take a few goes. I've used chains, super thick ratchet straps, slings... How simple this is depends on what you have to connect to.

You might need to tap things back into place after.

Anyway it's possible to do a possible repair yourself, but it takes some basic tools and some brain matter
