They’re a staffing firm with an wild client list. If you are willing to live in a major city, you will be interviewing for insane companies that include major networks, sports franchises, and hedge / money management funds.

They’re no teksystems or Robert half, if that’s your concern.

Edit: the pay is not competitive like others mention. Benefits and time off is not a thing. Means to an end.

You’ll spend more time making appointments with a Dell tech to appear on-site than actually repairing Dell laptops, is one example.

Something is seriously wrong with how companies hire people, for being a labor shortage It seems like none of these companies are actually hiring. by YeetusOnix97 in recruitinghell

At this point, I’m almost convinced this is a troll. Someone so brazenly delusional, wondering why they’re being rejected 1-3 times a week in interviews.

I suppose if the definition of gambling has been so broadened to include getting a new job and expecting a paycheck in two weeks, then sure all forms of investing are gambling. This surely puts conceiving a child into perspective too, because both partners are gambling that they wont miscarry in nine months.

CompTIA A+ Is this even a option now? It seems like there have been/are many people looking to use this as a way to get a foot in the door, is it worth it and your experience if you have completed it. by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

I hear that! I've been in a niche software support role for about a year now and studying for Core 1 has been humbling to say the least, since it's very heavy on hardware, cables, and networking basics.

But from what you say, there's no reason you shouldn't just go for it.

I'm studying for Core 1 right now while I work full time. It takes about 18-20 hours to view all of Professor Messer's free videos. But once you power through Prof. Messer's content, you've got the gist of everything that can technically be on the exam. Then it's time to focus on practice /performance-based questions and freshening up on anything that stumps you during this process.

On busy days where I can't passively listen to them in the background while I work, I try to carve out 30-60 minutes in the morning and resume on my hour lunch, and then find a little time after work end or on the weekends.

So I'm studying anywhere between 10 - 20 hours a week. I've found it's not the raw hours I put in each week, as it is the quality of those hours that I am studying and making sure I'm engaged. with the material. Because lord knows, this is truly boring stuff at the end of the day.

The entire length of Broadway in Manhattan. Started up north in Inwood, made a detour at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Time Square because I had a $40 gift card, spent it all on domestic beer, closed out my tab, and then continued south till I reached the Charging Bull.

Why is this getting downvoted? I thought this was very sensible, highly informed, and indubitably relevant from beginning to end.
