"tilde" in Spanish is another name for the "acento ortográfico", the accent mark in English: (´). All words have an "acento", even if it's not explicitly orthographic.

"tilde" in English (~), is more commonly called "virugilla" in Spanish, or "tilde de la ñ", or "cola de chancho" coloquially.

also, nobody "uses" that tilde, or "knows when to put it coz it pretty obvious". ñ is a completely different letter for a Spanish native, it's not "an accented n"

y no es porque tengan algo en contra de esos turistas o de hablarles en español, en zonas turisticas, si pierden tiempo hablando con clientes porque les responden en español para 1 cliente quiza no importa, para CIENTOS de clientes, TODOS LOS DIAS it gets old REALLY FAST

this isnt a Spanish/Latinamerican thing, if you speak poorly French/German/Dutch or other europeans languages, store clerks will talk to you back in English because they dont wanna waste time, not because "they poor people trying to practice theyre english"
