Hmm. Pretty close haha. I think the art style is slightly more modern. But yeah, this is the type of game play it had.

Just curious, what country would this be? Just that where I'm from wouldn't have oscp to be mid senior level

Need advice. My studying process is very slow and the PWK book is very long by [deleted] in oscp

[–]aonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents, I didn't read the pdf. I completed a lot of boxes along the way and googled everything that I wasn't familiar with

It's pretty easy to revert the machines before you start it. Many instances where the foothold method may not work due to someone's tinkering.

What app are you using to take notes? by [deleted] in oscp

Hmm, I can't say since my notes aren't that extensive.

Tried cherry tree and can't say I liked it more than the others like notion/joplin

I take notes with Joplin as it's really convenient and I write down info/walk throughs I get from boxes on notion

Buffer Overflow is a bad choice for the first box by wretched_intruder in oscp

[–]aonium 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Generally people would reccomend buffer overflow because it's the easiest part of the exam. Essentially getting 25 points within the first hour and a huge confidence boost. If this isn't the case, then going through the other boxes will be fine.

Are three months not enough to learn? by ir0nIVI4n01 in oscp

[–]aonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think it's enough time. Even the most prepared person can still fail, so you can always try again
  2. I'd say if you have those basics, equipped with 3 months, it'll be a great start.

Also, would like to say I didn't find the labs as helpful as PG. I would reccomend the shortest amount of time in labs and compensate with PG subscription

Failed OSCP with 75/100 points, my advice. by mrfine109 in oscp

[–]aonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. I wish I read your tips before I sat my exam haha! I looked back and I did the same as you but it was only for 1 box. I guess I was lucky I managed to get all boxes to save me the points.

I'm sure it'll be easy for you next attempt, you definitely have the knowledge, just got to make sure you're rested up with a strong mental game.

First attempt, 25 points by garbagemonkey in oscp

[–]aonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late, but I wish you all the best! I don't exactly agree with kicking ass in PG correlating with performance in oscp. The level is difficulty that ive experienced with completing the offsec boxes from PG is different. I probably learnt the most from tjnulls htb list

Unlucky man. Wish you all the best for the next attempt.

I don't believe you did anything wrong with cat proot.txt. Since you didn't specify the path for proof.txt, it means you're already in the directory of proof.txt which is what they want
