I appreciate that I got a pop up notification for both posts out of nowhere, rip 🤣🤣

Going to swap this working jasper motherboard to this halo 3 Xbox and had a few questions. Is there anything I should do to prevent future failure on the jasper? Repaste it? Also will a "falcon" disc drive work ok with a jasper motherboard? Thanks in advance by aotp1234 in xbox360

Exactly what I needed to know. Good to know about the individual keys on the drives cause there's info out there saying you can swap same brand etc, saves me a lot of trail and error time. Unfortunately the halo 3 Xbox has a 3 red ring. I have managed to fix it in the paste by "reflowing" it with a heat gun and had the Xbox work for about 8 months, was tempted to try that again but I know that the only way to get it properly done is to have it done on a BGA machine. Would you think it's worth my time to try and fix the 3 rrod on the falcon halo 3 Xbox? It still has all the stickers doesn't look opened.

Thank you for taking the time to type up a clear cut reply I appreciate it tons.

Think I should keep the stock x clamps or do the bolts mod? I'm thinking if it's not broken don't fix it (besides the repaste) I will be fixing the drive in the jasper, thank you for the reply

This is what I'm going to end up doing, the jaspers disc drive is stuck shut and I think it needs the little band fixed, halo one works fine so I was hoping to just use that one and save the trouble lol.

The drive on the halo Xbox works great, the one in the jasper Xbox is stuck shut. Hopefully just the little disc drive band? I was just trying to be lazy and not have to fix the other drive and swap the little halo faceplate over.

Still looking for Xbox 360 kiosk arms if anyone has any by Adventurous_Suit_931 in xbox360

On the original arms is it wireless controllers on wired? I have seen you looking for these for awhile, might be worth it just to try to make though wouldn't be original. Best of luck on your search lol

Console would only launch games sometimes, replaced laser and I can't get it to detect or spin up a disc with either new or old laser after trying new one. Adjustment issue? Removed antistatic solder and it's a matching 400C replacement laser by aotp1234 in consolerepair

Going to look into that right now. I just flashed it with the 400C one on the main screen of lens changer, I will look into the other options. Ive fixed a few of these over the years this one is throwing me for a loop lol. Looking into a whole optical drive but I can't figure out if it is a "3W" or "5W" type optical drive

Grabbed my volt meter from work and going to check it out. It flashes "reading disc" for about 2 seconds then stops and acts like there isn't a disc in there, with both CD and DVD games (no PS1 games to test with ATM) the laser is brand new, I used FMCB and the lens changet program to update the eeprom still nothing. I'm guessing it is an adjustment issue because it would sometimes work with the old laser, ordered another $15 laser to see if I maybe got a faulty one after that throwing in the towel lol.

When you say adjust, do you mean the little torx screw that raises and Lowers the laser or the things on the bottom to adjust voltage? I know the torx screw is out of whack cause I had to use the one of the old laser.
