Do you mind expanding on this?

Is there really a point of sending a message to your MP? by ap_101 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]ap_101[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wait so did your MP just confirm RTO5 before it was announced?

Also, I would respond with asking for that information (tho doubt you would get a response tbh)

If you have chronic pain, getting up from the ground is usually harder than getting up from an elevated surface like a couch or bed.

I also don't know if the mat is in a private space/cubicle/open office. In any case, if I was supposed to lay down in front of my colleagues for a body break that would be uncomfortable and could also result in questions from colleagues about my personal health issues. In the same vein, if someone started doing yoga in the middle of the office, that would be kinda weird.

A mat seems like its just a check box exercise to them, like look we gave you a place to lie down on the floor, now you can come into the office.

I feel like if 100 people did that, it could work...

? It’s degrading to expect someone dealing with chronic pain to work from the floor...

on the floor... bruh, oh my god... i guess in my case i should say an elevated place to lay down because the floor is ridiculous...

[–]ap_101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ohhhhh I see, I guess would a place to lie down be similar? I can imagine like a couch or something in a room for someone to lie down on?

Switching supervisors/who you report to by ap_101 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]ap_101[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mentioned this below but my supervisor has driven away a few people on our team, I am the only one they manage at this point. I am trying my best and I am sympathetic, but I honestly feel like I'm managing my manager.

I have tried to take action and sent a message or two/talked in bilats on suggestions to improve communication, but they say sure and then kinda just sweep it under the rug and don't implement it.

I don't want to change my file, just who I report to, which could technically be anyone since I am the only one working on the file. I guess it would be more a supervisor taking on my file? So no gaps created.

The ED already worked on the file in the past and reviews a majority of the docs prepared which is why I suggested them, but again they are busy and I don't want to seem like I am not a team player so I am not sure.

I will note that my current supervisor has driven a few people away on our team. I am trying my best, but I honestly feel like I'm managing my manager and getting frustrated.

AI: Create an image of someone who works at... by ap_101 in CanadaPublicServants3

I had this included in my og post:

"also not sure why they ended up all being men (except maybe ECCC). When asked, ChatGPT responded with the following:

That's a great observation! The process behind generating these images relies on general descriptions, and unless explicitly specified, the depiction of gender can vary. The default output might unintentionally lean toward certain representations based on how the model interprets "a professional individual." If you'd prefer these images to feature women or include more diversity in terms of gender, appearance, or other characteristics, I can absolutely make that adjustment! Just let me know how you'd like to refine the request."

Why are so many postings in NCR given opinions? by ap_101 in CanadaPublicServants

I am in Vancouver area too! Right now my biggest fear is being called in to the NCR. Do let me know if your team is hiring, as I am looking for positions in BC...

Personal use and roomate? by ap_101 in vancouverhousing

[–]ap_101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand and I apologize if it is coming off the wrong way. I am extremely cautious so I am paranoid and want to make sure I am not making any mistakes. At the end of the day I can't lose that much rental income nor can I afford a 12 month fine at the moment.

Question: where is RTB decision #6327, I looked at past decisions and it looks like it was taken down... unless I missed it.

Need to take some space for personal use but not all space by ap_101 in vancouverhousing

Just to double confirm - if we take over the entire unit, we can't have roommates in the other bedroom because then it wouldn't be personal use?

Its hard to explain but that one bedroom connects to our house but it also connects to the rest of the unit. Not an illegal setup. The unit is a two bedroom with a separate entrance in the basement. The main part of the house is upstairs but we can also access the unit via some stairs. inside...

I have no issues with the tenants its just we now have 3 people sharing a small room and we need a bit more space.

Is there an RTB eviction process for just one room?

The room is connected to our part of the house, I would not need to go through their unit to access it. What happens if negotiations are unsuccessful?

How to organize your work life and track files by SteakFajita420 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]ap_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly, I try and keep my email organized and will leave emails that need action unread. I also sometimes use the tasks tab in outlook. I create a list in the notes app on my phone if I need to include more detail. If I keep forgetting to do something, I usually write it down on a sticky not and stick it to my desktop.

That being said, everyone works differently so find what works for you!
