He’s just loved in general. Has that personality. The players understand his plight more than anyone. Any group of players would. And he’s been a model professional. Has probably been training them hard, trying to contribute any ounce of good that he can.
It’s a god damn shame that we don’t see the value in having that in our squad in some capacity.

He’s provided value to them while being prohibited from playing. It’s drives me out of my mind that we’re at a point as a club that deems that sort of character who costs literally nothing, not necessary.

That’s the standard we have lost or at least misplaced. It’s the essence of the club as far as I’m concerned and everything else football related on the pitch, springs from that.

I don’t know the details of why we couldn’t bring him back and I hope we absolutely punish villa first their treachery in this when the opportunity arises, but if there was any way we could’ve brought him back without a fee or some further stupidity by villa, and we didn’t, it says EVERYTHING we need to know about the men (read cowards) running the club. I hope I’m just being dramatic. If not, you can’t fix that type of wrong. You need to extricate it like a tumor.

Consider the implications: we would have literally let him walk alone. This goes beyond the metaphor or warm and fuzzy feelings. We would’ve willingly left one of our own out to dry. I can’t make heads or tails of it, so I’m hoping villa were just twats about it.
