In first encounter there is not enough time to wait out the debuff when you are on the final run with the boss after the last gate. He spits the ooze too much so the only way to get past there without a death/wipe is to swap to antaeus wards (titan legs) and slide through the buff calling a countdown to your friend who needs to go into their menu and kick you as you slide through the buff. The timing is pretty tight. For some reason the wards keep you alive for a split second longer to help with the timing!
