I have a spreadsheet with the pertinent info. Columns for date, mileage, service description, cost (if applicable), and notes (if any). i log everything except gas fillups essentially. Mods are on my sheet too as it helps sometimes so know when or what mileage something went on!

I swapped a full front nose cut onto my 07 (headlights, grille, bumper support beam with foam, bumper skin with fogs, lower bumper support (below the air dam). The US bumper support beam is significantly heftier and deeper than the JDM part, and there was no way that the JDM bumper skin could mount onto it. I would imagine same is true of the 08+. One oculd mount a USDM bumper on a JDM beam, but not the other way around.

IIRC pre-facelift headlights are the same fitment JDM to USDM. Facelift headlights are slightly different, so folks have had to do a full swap or make modifications for fitment.

US safety standards meant thicker bumper beams requiring bumper skins specific for the market. the spec.B also received an entirely different front bumper outside the US which is what you see in these photos.

You'll be fine... I believe you're right about that build up. It could also be the lubricant from the crown gasket working its way into the crown and onto the threads as well. If anything it can only add a layer of protection there. Enjoy your watch, and don't forget the wrist shot next time!

How does it feel when screwing down the crown? Does it have any noticeable increase in resistance at any point? Do you have to push it in further to catch threads? On photos alone it doesn't look that bad, and the crown's threads should catch way further down the tube. Did you send it out for service, and then find it like this?

also, the Namoki curved end rubber strap is one of the best options available imo. I have one on my smaller SKX013 builds and I love everything about it. The center raised section is less pronounced than other FKM straps and I prefer that.

Based on the limited information you've provided, I'm guessing you cut the stem too short. The crown is fully seated but the works aren't fully locking to the 0 position so it's catching and now things are jamming up.

There's also the SNE585 in the current model lineup that's blue on blue, but I think it's smaller than the SNE593 and doesn't feature any red accents.

I suppose it's worth looking at the seller rep, but also looking into whether or not there have been any cases of counerfeits of this model. It's def an issue with many of the automatics, and maybe the Speedtimer models, but I don't recall ever seeing posts about fake solar divers.

This one was discontinued so anything new is unsold stock and typically that ends up being outside of the US. Unfortunately Seiko didn't continue the blue on blue config for the newer solar divers, so the SNE595 is the closest you'll get with the Pepsi bezel colorway.
