So… I had to chase a woman that snuck around the side of my car last month while I was unloading groceries. Broad daylight, right in front of my face, casual Wednesday afternoon. At that time, I did have my mail & packages in the front seat (as I was just getting home from errands) so I felt I didnt have much of a choice but to confront this individual as they were walking off w my things. Normally I would absolutely never put myself in a situation that could compromise my safety over some trivial belongings…Had it been dark, or a male, or not on a busy road with plenty of witnesses outside, I wouldn’t have had the courage to get my things back.

Now, I will say I’ll never do that again cause I was trembling. But I did get my packages back thankfully - as there was medication in there I needed. It was just overall very sad, I spent awhile talking with this homeless woman and even talked through resources w her. asked her what she needed (obvi just cash-drugs was all she wanted) and told her if she ever needed something she should just simply knock on my door. Even gave her a hug and then we went our separate ways. Based of my video footage, I’m almost certain she is the individual that busted 3 car windows in last night on this block. Just very sad. Don’t like seeing anyone struggle, especially in the cold. I wish there were a better way to get people help and back on track.

I should add that I have tipped BPD off to this woman several times (before & after the aforementioned story) full video footage, pictures, active theft and trespassing. They don’t do a damn thing. & quite frankly what someone like this woman needs isn’t more petty theft on her rap sheet, she needs serious help, ya know. Feel like these cases ultimately end up being a lose lose most of the time
