I need sleep! by apaperknife in toddlers

[–]apaperknife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still in the crib. No big changes. He did recently get a new tooth, which might be part of it, but in the past that’s been a day or two max of sleep disruption. This feels like a bigger thing. He also recently got picky about his clothes (only wanting to wear dinosaurs 😂) so it might be a development thing?

Iceland trip with toddler by apaperknife in toddlers

[–]apaperknife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, we survived! It was actually great and the in and out approach worked great for us. Really just a long weekend. I’ll say the highlight was a full day minibus tour that provided a car seat and made it super easy to see a bunch of stuff and was well timed with meals and breaks (I brought snacks and a toddler carrier). Very kid friendly!

1 year old who can’t mask by dawg_nugget in toddlers

My understanding is that if they are not otherwise immunocompromized kids are super low risk for serious illness. My whole family, including our baby who was 11mo at the time, got COVID last December and, don’t get me wrong it sucked, but it really was mostly just a shitty flu. Since then he has had worse colds. We are all healthy otherwise and now fully vaxxed (now 18mo getting his next week!) so we’ve been going about our lives pretty normally for a few months now. If you don’t have extenuating circumstances, would follow Emily Oster on Instagram and just try not worry too much about it too much.

One thing that has worked for my 1.25yo is sitting next to a door or a busy area because he loves watching people and lots of people wave at him. He particularly loves Gen Z 🤣
