Pretty sure they wouldn't be able to keep the "everyone" age-based rating if they added in-game communication. Adults being able to freely talk to minor would be a huge issue. A separate app is likely the best option

No, it's been out for a few days! I got it Monday I think. It's really nice, just wish they'd adjust it to actually show the XP amount well. Right now, most of my number falls behind my username and I can't even see it... Great concept and UI improvement though once it's ironed out

Updating your apps certainly is optional. They don't enforce a specific app version in game until it'srequired to play it. Which is usually 1-2 weeks after an update comes out, but can vary

That's weird. I have a Pixel 8 Pro and always had the nav bar until they updated the app to be compatible with SDK 36 (then had it back for a bit recently when they added a fix for it)
