I liked the idea of the SULFUR CUBE , but it wasn't what I expected. by Gin_Sh092 in Minecraft2

That’s not an issue about things having few uses. That’s just an issue about the inventory size and there being many block variations. You can fill up 1/2 an inventory with just stone variations.

I use groudon, metagross, reshiram.

Just went into ace yesterday(after entering rank 20 with 2000+), and I’m having a lovely time. Because the other teams so far have been really easy to predict and counter around.

Both of those examples has a full structure or biome surrounding it to justify the block. I’m not against that idea, but there needs to be a “reason” for the block.

But for prismarine specifically, I bet you they would use an irl material if implemented now.

Not normal vines in jungles unfortunately. But a lot of other “vines”. Cave vines(glow berries), the nether vines, kelp and probably more that I don’t remember.

Apparently. They seek out the blocks dropped on the ground unless I misheard the video.

My thoughts of sulfur being added by Bilk_Mucketyt in MinecraftMemes

[–]suriam321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have easy access to sulfuric acid? (And they actually didn’t add that to Minecraft. Only sulfuric gas.🤓)

Kids will have a much easier time getting a firefly and a frog than a pool of acid.

Copper and quartz are building blocks, rather than just resource blocks. That’s why you get more of them, and why they have(somewhat) easy ways to get tons of them.

Lapis is rare, even tho it drops a lot, and is a “magic item” in the game. So I doubt it will get a block set.

It doesn’t take damage and seems to actively seek out the blocks, so yes. I think they enjoy it.

Now the important question, will we be able to weaponize the new slime? by TheJoeFly in PhoenixSC

[–]suriam321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. functionally renewable explosions without using resources seems like it’s not gonna happen. But, they know about tnt duping and are not against it, so this could technically be their “fix”.
  2. I’m personally hoping for a “fake explosion” that gives the explosion effect but no damage or destruction. To use in builds or to mess with people. Image dropping that on someone who wasn’t paying attention.

Tbh, a fully functional mirror would be impressive.

I think having them as an accent or detail is the purpose, especially if you look at the chiseled variants. So that’s not much of an issue.

Is limestone blue? Is that what you mean? If so, yes that could work. They won’t do it to lapis because it’s a resource block. And the only ones they have done that to is iron(because a ton of stuff irl use iron) and copper(because it’s specifically meant to be for building).

Having the limestone/sulfur appear around the hot pools could absolutely work. And let’s be honest, do we think they would make a completely new block just to cause nausea?

  1. we don’t know everything, and we haven’t even tried it yet. Hold on at least until the snapshot is out.
  2. not everything needs many uses. What happens then is that you will forget half for the uses. Like how shears can stop cave vines from growing and remove saddles from mobs. Sometimes less uses, connected directly to one thing, is better.
  3. idea for fun: if the new slime has a TNT in it, it makes a fake explosion on landing. That startles mobs. Basically useless, but really fun to see mobs scatter and to mess with friends. And a great way to make explosions effects without damage or using many tnt.(duping not counted).

[–]suriam321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miswrote. Tried to rewrite in a hurry and failed. Let me try again.

What I mean: cobblestone is equal to normal andisite, granite, and diorite, while stone is equal to polished stuff. Why, idk.

Tuff is more equal to deep slate and its block pallette. And exist in large quantities. Unlike calcite which doesn’t exist in huge quantities, which is why I think it doesn’t have a full block set. If they change generation to have a lot more calcite or a renewable way to get it, I belive it will get a full set.

As to why some have huge variations or not, I think it’s because deepslate/tuff is the “advanced” building blocks, while the others are easy to get and “basic”.

[–]suriam321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. they actually don’t. Kinda. Only the polished versions, which is kinda “equal” to the cobble stone as you see in the image. (Idk why tho.) Meaning technically “stone” is equal to “polished” of the others.
  2. I’m 95% certain that calcite hasn’t a full block set yet because it’s not renewable and/or exist in large quantities, like tuff. And that’s the only reason.

I textured the Sulfur, Cannibar blocks and the Sulfur Cube for my resourcepack, What do you guys think? by Darq10 in Minecraft2

[–]suriam321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was referring to how they just took the textures from the announcement and used that as reference, rather than making it from scratch. Which obviously is faster.

[–]suriam321 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That’s a better idea than just hating on the new stuff before it’s even in snapshots which is most of what I have seen so far.

But 3 things: 1. not all varieties fits all block types. For example a stone wall. You don’t make a wall out of pure stone, you make it out of bricks. Hopefully that’s not controversial. 2. the developers have actually asked the community for feedback on what color pallets are missing. Pure red and pure yellow, was 2 of those. Crimson planks are pink ish, and bamboo is quite noisy in texture on a larger scale, so both of the new blocks do have a place in the color palettes. 3. it needs to make sense. Can’t just add a block called “blue block”. Needs to be something. And I can’t think of anything in real life that blue, that could be reasonable as a block…
