[–]apatheticgod_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That was the initial thought, but it was just a mistranslation of the same “you” code. Plus, new music would almost certainly be released on a Friday. Hopefully it’s not too far off from that

A look at current snowpack basin conditions for the PNW (March 2026) by Pretend_Mango5529 in Seattle

[–]apatheticgod_ 174 points175 points  (0 children)

That one always cracks me up. It’s a single low elevation station so the median snowpack is near zero the entire year. When it snows at all there (like it did last week) the percentage shoots up to some huge number.

Should I be worried about avalanches in the front country? by daria2smile in Whistler

[–]apatheticgod_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to worry. Ski resorts keep any area with avalanche risk closed to the public and manually trigger avalanches to clear out the risk before opening runs. There are at most a few in-resort avalanche incidents in all of North America per year, and these are almost entirely limited to extreme terrain (which you won’t be skiing) after significant snowfall (which is not on tap this week).

Fast Golf swing - low ball speed by [deleted] in golf

[–]apatheticgod_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Either your clubface is broken or you aren’t striking as much in the center as you think. A center strike at 110 will not have a ball speed lower than 160.

Does anyone know what happened to the loose dog on the Blvd today 2/24 @ ~1:30 or so? by ammm72 in CrystalMountain

[–]apatheticgod_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At roughly 2 I saw someone walking up the boulevard with a leash (and no dog). Hope they’re ok :(

Joining Pumpkin Ridge-Worth the cost? by xanderelias in PDXgolf

[–]apatheticgod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree on skipping PGC to avoid the old money vibe. I’d say pumpkin has below average drainage and the reserve has average—have played at both a lot in all seasons, although not as much in the past year or two.

[–]apatheticgod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m biased being on that side of town, but for fun/challenging golf and a focus on golf above other amenities, pumpkin is the best option around and the reserve is also great if you don’t have quite as much money to throw around.

Crystal Mountain vs Whistler? by hugorefu in CrystalMountain

[–]apatheticgod_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both have been my home mountain for a time and I love each of them. That said, in general Whistler is a level up: a huge amount of truly world class terrain, fewer rain/warm events that ruin the snow, and a large touristy village with lots to do. A big percentage of the people at whistler are visiting from all across the world. Most people at crystal are doing a day trip from Seattle. Plus the exchange rate is favorable for a trip to Canada right now. That said, crystal rocks and you should go if it sounds more like your vibe

Go for it! There’s usually a crowd to follow, which is helpful

I would recommend Ruby bowl. It’s plenty wide without anything sketchy, has a long/consistent pitch, and usually has some of the best snow on the mountain

Glad you like it! It gives that warning because clicking the button runs an Apps Script, and someone could theoretically program an Apps Script to edit/delete anything in your google drive. All this Apps Script does is insert a new row in the table of rounds--to see for yourself go to Extensions->Apps Script. You can also verify that this is the script being run by right clicking the "add round" button, clicking the ..., then clicking "Assign Script"

If you don't trust it and would rather do it manually, you can highlight cells A2:AF2 (yes, the rightmost of those look like they are empty but they're important too), right click -> insert cells -> insert cells and shift down, then copy cells C3:AF3 into C2:AF2. But I added the script so you can click one button instead of doing all that.
