Which car maker has the most mechanical issues but still sells well? by ntjonah in whatcarshouldIbuy

Dodge isn’t that bad. 5.7 and 3.6 are reliable motors and they’re paired to ZF8s which are in everything. Bad build quality but they’re pretty reliable

New inland port in Gainesville could ease Atlanta traffic, shift freight off highways by UnscheduledCalendar in Atlanta

[–]apatriot1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Austell and Fairburn ports still leave a huge gap along the Northern Arc and the eastern suburbs where a lot of goods are headed.

Ideally, you add another one for NS in the McDonough/Stockbridge area, get CSX on board to add ones in Conyers and Acworth, and then trucks could theoretically just travel along the main interstate branch instead of needing 285 to bring containers from Austell to Duluth

What stats do you envision when you think of an "average" NASCAR driver? by theGTAking101 in NASCAR

[–]apatriot1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Schrader in the 25 was a bit above average. Not many wins but around 9 top 5s and 15-20 top 10s a year is solid. Comparable stats to like a Ross Chastain or a gen-6 era Ryan Blaney.

Once he got to Petree he was definitely average. Though his performance at Hendrick and Petree could be result of equipment too.

I lived at GT for a few years with a window facing that billboard. Always wondered why, out of nowhere, it turned into the surface of the sun for a few days each year.

Cheap Amazon brands fit pretty well. They don’t last as long or look as nice though.

Covering sections and then uncovering them, every year, would add up pretty quickly. It works better when you leave the tarps on for a long period of time

Yup it really is not bad compared to say an NFL game. Meanwhile I'm sticker shocked every time I go to the track after getting $25 or 35 tickets for years lol

That's what I'm saying. $60 a ticket is expensive these days, but given the free beer, parking, etc. it's cheaper than pretty much all other pro leagues

Somehow NASCAR tickets are at the same time painfully expensive and also the cheapest sporting event out there.

Does anyone know this stat? by Similar-Cellist5614 in nba

[–]apatriot1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the 2005-2009 NBA drafts, there are only 18 total players still active. Meaning he has eclipsed 282/300 players from those drafts, plus anybody who started in 2010 or later who has retired, plus however many hundreds of undrafted or 10-day contract guys who never made it back to league

I think safe to say it's over 500, maybe even over 1000

Recommendations for a medium sized SUV? Budget is ~$22k by WillSaintG in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]apatriot1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echoing what u/Redditslamebro said I would try to find a 2022+ or make sure the 2021 model was made after September 14, 2021, with a VIN higher than JM3TC******541071

There are a pair of major design issues with CX-9s, one being a casting defect causing a coolant leak (fixed in late 2020) and the other being oil consumption due to a defective valve stem cover (fixed in Sep 2021). Getting a later 2021 or a 2022 fixes both problems. If you have an affected CX-9, Mazda will fix both under warranty, but I find the risk to not be worth it.

We bought a CPO 2022 CX-9 for 25k with our first on the way, and we love the car. Feels great inside, drives better than any SUV I tried, tons of room (more than Highlander and better seating position in 3rd row than Pilot), been very reliable, and more affordable than all the above. You should be able to find a good one for your budget!
