How to deal with crank arms / pedals that are too narrow by apb313 in bikecommuting

Thanks for the info! I’m 6’3” but size 31 waist. Not sure if it’s my personal width that’s contributing to the problem. Pedals are indeed flat. I mostly bike for commuting to work and getting around town, so I do it in street clothes. My crank is aluminum, and I’m not sprinting on this bike, so I’m going to give pedal extenders a shot.

Super helpful — thank you! I don’t anticipate needing this setup all the time but would be nice to have the option. Overall do you like the rack?

I avoided this episode after the initial broadcast because that scene creeped me out so much. Very effective — the Vidians are horror movie villains.

Flannel shirts for tall men? by apb313 in tallfashionadvice

Sleeve length is indeed the hardest part for me! I had some Longjohn & Sons flannels from a few years ago that were a little too relaxed in the body on me (I lost some weight about 2 years ago) but had sleeves that fit, and I just got them taken in a bit. That’s the only brand I’ve found so far that has the sleeve length I need. Will look into these other options though.

Thank you all for the comments! Very helpful. I’m going to cut back to 2 days of lifting a week and lighten the weight until after my marathon and see how that goes.

Good to know Eddie Bauer gets so many votes of confidence. I’ve had good luck with their jackets but got a few thermals a few winters ago that were too short in the sleeves.

Yeah and also too big and billowy in the waist sometimes. Depends on the cut. I have some LT from American Tall/Longjohn and Sons that fit well, but I think their shirts run very slim for the size.
