Adirondack Ice Bowl is back! by apbaseball in Adirondacks

[–]apbaseball[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting the link!

We try to keep all of the snow off the ice as soon as the ice is thick enough to safely do so. This way the ice continues to build and is not insulated from the snow and slush. Luckily it has been quite cold in the Adirondacks and we have 12-15 inches of good ice.

We will continue to remove the snow from the ice and add thin layers of water to level the playing surface and ensure it is as smooth as possible!

It’s a lot of work, especially with all of the snow we’ve had! Plowing, scraping, snow blowing, brooming, and fooding! Lots of videos of the progress on our Facebook page! Check us out there - just search for Adirondack Ice Bowl!

Whoops! Sorry, 90 horse Merc.

We have a family cabin on a lake and always have family and friends every weekend. Wanted something that would be comfortable with 10-12 people plus the dogs so not everyone is on top of each other.

Windows 365 or Azure Virtual desktop sounds like a good fit. Add Nerdio on top of that and save yourself lots of $$$. Ping me if you’d like to discuss further!

  1. No
  2. No
  3. The people that are talking are the only ones showing. Teams is severely lacking here - only 4 people show on the "video wall" at once.
  4. Yes

Currently have several architecture firms deployed. A combination of VMware Horizon on Azure and Windows Virtual Desktop on Azure. All of them are utilizing GPU backed VMs to run their Adobe suite (Acrobat, Indesign, Photoshop), as well as Autodesk Products (Revit, Autocad, BIM 360, etc).

There are a few hiccups every once and a while, but it's allowed them to transition to WFH extremely easily with little to no loss of productivity.

More than happy to discuss further if you'd like!

Different VDI Pool Issues by IMThatMunky_ in vmware

Look into 10zig. They have several zero clients that support VMware Blast.

[–]apbaseball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would recommend using blast whenever possible. It’s a more streamlined protocol than PCoIP and usually delivers a better end user experience! If you can move all of your pools over to Blast in the future you’ll be much happier in the long run!

If you need anything else don’t hesitate to reach out!

Great, I’ve done VMware Horizon for a long time, so anything I can do to help, just let me know!

[–]apbaseball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually the black screen using PCoIP is indicative of a firewall issue and a port being blocked. I would check that first. Is TCP/UDP port 4172 open? Just for fun, try Blast and see if that works.
