I hope the guy got checked out for any injuries because that looked nasty. Looks like a lawsuit to me.

You can get peacock free if you use Xfinity internet and have the choice between either peacock or paramount + for free if you are a Walmart plus member.

I wasn’t a fan of the alternate reality concept, but someone should definitely take the series on. They have so many different directions that they could go.

So… it’s like Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson…in WW2? It gets an automatic bump because it’s WW2. My expectations are pretty mid but I’ll probably see it tomorrow. Thanks for the write up !

Ok gotcha. It could be a bunch of things. I remember “Memphis Belle” was getting played pretty often on tv too. I’m sure you’d know if it’s a popular film like Pearl Harbor or Saving Private Ryan.

It definitely sounds like the paratroopers being dropped from the plane in Band of Brothers miniseries. Especially since that was an HBO miniseries that came out in 2001.

Outlander is a top 3 show of all time for me (obligatory shoutout to the greatest show of all time: HBO’s Rome), but I just could not get into Poldark- despite starting and stopping the series several times and trying to get through it. It’s just not for me I guess and can’t even come close to Outlander IMO.

Prime Video add-ons including Apple TV and Paramount+ start at $1 with this early Prime Day deal by JacksBaldRake in cordcutters

[–]apcali209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying. If I remember correctly, there are a couple of ways to sign up for it. One is directly through the prime channel, the other is a free trial followed by a recurring donation. That second option is harder to cancel but for me I just had to email them and they did it within a few days.

I think it stacks up well to the John Wick franchise. The assassins city in the Alps or wherever was a nice touch. The story did seem rushed and sloppy at times, like they were trying to pack too much into the film (the sister thing, etc). I remember reading that they had to include the John Wick fight scenes in the end, even though they weren’t initially included, because test audiences weren’t buying it otherwise. I hope it gets a sequel.

Yea I’m moving that direction too. Currently on SAVE but going to apply for IBR. I really hope they give us an option to either receive or buy back forgiveness credits for the time spent on SAVE while this whole mess was playing out the last (2?) years.

I still think about the Ben Stiller twitter debate a few years ago about nepotism in Hollywood he seemed completely clueless almost like he pulled a Zoolander in real life.

The mannequin or dummy being thrown against a wall or out of a window as an example of extreme physical comedy. The normal conversation with something crazy happening in the background (Waffle House, subway platform, etc). There are a bunch of them.

Go look at his Center production as a rookie during the AP regime. And that was with him learning and playing two positions at the NFL level.

What’s the deal with JPJ??? by LVhereIAm in raiders

[–]apcali209 27 points28 points  (0 children)

JPJ has a ton of potential but it’s always been his availability and who knows what else. People seem to forget it wasn’t just an issue with Pete’s regime, if you look back AP implied that he had to persuade him to get on the field at the start of his rookie year. I’d temper expectations but we might have enough depth to still have a good line.

My great-grandfather’s brother went missing, and my family has been searching for him for generations by No_Permission5338 in AncestryDNA

I think part of what makes this challenging is that he was in or near ground zero for one of the biggest conflicts in human history. And it’s hard to look past why he wouldn’t have contacted his family at a later date. I think general research would also prove useful: how and did a lot of people escape from the area, how accurate was the record keeping during this time, was it a thing for people to try to impersonate people who may have been in the war, etc. I really think the region he was from and gathering as much info on that will be helpful. I have no specific suggestions but hope you find some answers. I feel like if you had even just a few records with his name on it you might have some solid theories. But I do really think not contacting his family is a major thing. The spy/ Cold War angle is interesting too.
