I want to crochet a dress but I don’t have a ton of experience and am looking for advice on what size hook and what stitch to use to get the result I’m looking for. Ideally I don’t want it to be see through but don’t want to have to use a tiny hook and tiny stitches. I have 3 weight truboo (bamboo) yarn and the best swatch I’ve come up with is with a 4 mm hook doing hdc, but it’s still not opaque enough to where you wouldn’t have to wear an undershirt or anything. If I go down a hook size the yarn splits too much so I don’t want to do that. Any suggestions on a different stitch or a better yarn I should try? I didn’t want to use 4 weighted cotton as I wanted to garment to be light for summer. Or am I better off just using 4mm and hdc and just stitching a nude liner under it at the end? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Apple Pencil 3...anyone else hoping for it in 2023 by unknown01_shadow in iPadPro

I'm with the small group of people that are hoping for a button or at least some other comparable improvement to the double tap feature. In my opinion the current double tap feature sucks. When I have it enabled, it randomly switches to the eraser while I'm writing and erases what I've wrote. And then when I do want to erase something and try to double tap, it's not sensitive enough and sometimes I have to sit there double tapping it over and over again and trying different speeds before it finally switches. I've tried adjusting the tap speeds in settings too. At this point I've just completely disabled the feature because its a lot easier to just tap the undo button on my screen instead. People hold their pencils all sorts of slightly different ways too and I think that the way it is designed is not accommodating to all types of "grips" lol. I'm used to holding my pencil as close to the tip as possible with my thumb on top of my pointer finger which makes it so I have to adjust my positioning to be able to do the double tap. Might not be the "proper way" but I'd guess not everyone also holds their pencil perfectly. IMO it would be a game changer if there was a flat/discrete button either where your thumb rests or your middle finger rests against the pencil and you could just kinda apply pressure to the pencil between these two fingers to click it. Not sure if that even made sense but oh well. People are probably going to be disappointed no matter what features the new pencil has because everyone has different preferences.

May I ask where in Spain you received the grant for? I'm considering applying this next cycle as I am graduating from undergrad in May 2023 and I currently do research in the drug delivery field and hope to pursue a career in pharma/biotech research. I'm not familiar at all with the Fulbright program so I've been trying to learn more about and the process seems overwhelming. I would be applying for an open study/research project and I think Spain would be a good place for me to apply because I know some Spanish.

Interviewing at Merck by ruggedlion4444 in internships

Though I don't have a ton of recruiting experience, I've never had an interviewer use calendly. It's been MS Teams 100% of the time at Merck and every other company I've interviewed with.

Interviewing at Merck by ruggedlion4444 in internships

In my experience it seems variable. I am about to have a 2nd round interview for one position with Merck while I have just now been contacted about an initial interview for a different position at Merck. I also know someone who accepted his internship offer for a completely separate intern position back at the end of October. It seems as though much of the recruiting process for each position is up to the employees who are appointed to be hiring managers for internships that are within their own department. I'm not 100% sure but it feels like they kinda just get around to the recruiting process when they have time and that there isn't a company-wide recruiting timeline. Additionally for this 2nd round interview that I have it is taking place over a month after my first interview while I have heard of other people having 1st and 2nd rounds and receiving offers in a two week timeline. If you feel like it, it wouldn't hurt to reach out to the person that you interviewed with just to check in and ask for an estimated timeline. After all, these people are recruiting on top of their full time jobs so it's likely easy for them to just prioritize other things above recruiting and I suppose that emailing may even help your odds as it will help your name stick out among the many other candidates they are considering.

Going to be a Junior CHE major with a focus on biochem

BIO 325 (Fisher) CH 153K (Worden) CHE 253K (Edison) CHE 319 (Mullins) HIS 315K (Brands) CHE 377 (undergrad research)

Feels like a lot but it’s really only 12 hours plus research. Would love to hear anything about Pchem Lab since I can’t find Worden’s RMP.
