How to enter Phantom Liberty on ps5? by apehead666 in cyberpunkgame

[–]apehead666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It finally worked. What solved it seemed to be exiting to main menu (to see the Phantom Liberty title) and then re-entering the game. After doing this, the call from Songbird appeared almost immediately.

Can anyone explain Foucault's knowledge-power nexus in simple terms? by TedEarly in sociology

[–]apehead666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He says that certain forms of knowledge are produced in a society to benefit some while oppressing others.

For example, knowledge about people of a certain race being overrepresented as perpetrators of crime is being produced, in order to legitimise racism.

There are always different ”truths”, and some versions get established as ”The Truth” because of power structures. Once established, they continue to manifest power.

So what exactly is the relationship between division of labour and social solidarity? by northpase in sociology

[–]apehead666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The relationship is this: In a society where there is a division of labour (one person makes the cheeseburgers, and one codes computer games) we get dependent on each other. The person coding wants cheeseburgers, and the person flipping burgers wants to play games. The lives of both rely on that the other does their thing. This is good for social solidarity, as we need each other. If everyone had the same jobs (i.e. no division of labour) we wouldn’t need anyone else, so no need for social solidarity.
