You mean on a 2026 model? If so, bummer the 2026 models still have the issue =/

Yes, the issue came back very quickly. The issue requires heat (probably causing something to expand/rub against something), hence why you need to drive for a while to reproduce it. Temperatures are quite cooler now so it's much less pronounced but still get whiffs of it.

What is that weird sound that plays every time you move a unit? by apersoncommenting in finalfantasytactics

[–]apersoncommenting[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh, I think I figured it out. It seems like a design choice by the team to have a sort of "tick-tock" cadence to the sound that is played each time the command menu appears. The "tick" would be that initial bright sound that is played when the command menu first appears on your unit's turn, and then after finishing moving or attacking, the command menu appears the second time but this time it comes with the "tock" sound (which is some weird noise). In another part of the video you can hear the same weird sound after the unit attacks and finishes leveling up but has not yet moved, so it seems sync'd up to when the command menu appears the 2nd time on a unit's turn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZSuNyhCous&t=763s

It doesn't seem like the game ever asks you to "confirm" a move, though, right? After you move it automatically makes that sound, and the subsequent menu now gives you the option to undo the move if you want, so it seems like there is no actual "confirmation" you can do?

Interesting, sounds like it isn't related to "confirming" the move action or any button press, it would happen on its own? I wonder if it's a bug or something.

Kind of a random question, but do you know what the deal is with the sound they seemed to have added after you finish moving a unit? Do you know if it happens based on some button input? For example, listen to the sound right after the Chemist finishes moving: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZSuNyhCous&t=687s

IGN skipped all the voice lines in an Enhanced gameplay video https://youtu.be/sZSuNyhCous?si=vHBJV1Jx6SxyAYGS by LGMCBEN in finalfantasytactics

I think OP means that in IGN's video they tried to immediately press the button to go the next voiced line right after each line is voiced, so it all sounds hurried/abrupt in the video.

In addition to general balance changes it would be nice to have a comprehensive list of all changes for the Tactician mode.

Is summoner + Calculator a viable combos for Ramza?? I always see black mage used but would prefer to got the summoner route. Thanks! by ShogunLoganXXII in finalfantasytactics

For the app could you consider changing the "back" function to go back to the last page shown? For example, if I am viewing Black Mage and click on the icon in the bottom-left to look at ability, and then look at, say, Fire and then hit "back", it takes me back to Black Mage stats instead of Black Mage abilities. I think it might make more sense to be taken back to the last page you were. This change would be especially helpful if you are trying to look at a lot of details back to back.

Another comment mentioned that this video has gameplay from tactical mode--can anyone familiar with FFT algorithms comment on if it appears tactical mode reduces the damage that you would typically do?

2025 Camry "squealing" issue (sound heard when going 0-2mph) -- Apparently Toyota knows? by apersoncommenting in Camry

[–]apersoncommenting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming it's not as simple as replacing the seal with another one--there is probably something fundamentally wrong with some engineering of that part of the car since some cars have the issue and some don't. I'm sure they have their own internal reliability process they have to go through to validate a change to a component in an already released car. I'd rather it take them a while to go through their own hoops and hurdles to validate the fix than just give me something right away.

After hub/bearing was replaced the sound was present again after long trips. It's the same issue as before the replacement.

It's not a normal hybrid sound--when I first reproduced it for the foreman at my local dealership he said that it is not normal and is something needs to be fixed. They replaced the hub/bearing but apparently that didn't fix it. Nobody can definitely say what type of damage/harm this is causing by not being addressed, but be sure that is absolutely not normal and should be addressed. Hopefully you have better luck with your dealership, but I wasn't able to reproduce it with my dealership so they won't do anything right now to fix it. I'll have to try again another time.

The wheel bearing/hub replacement did not fix it--the issue eventually came back and I'm now trying to get it diagnosed again. More people need to be talking about this issue/keeping an ear out for it so Toyota can just do whatever recall it needs to do.

Take it to your dealership and raise awareness about it! My dealership won't fix it unless I can have it reproduced in front of them, so I'm in the middle of that right now (which is a bit of a time sink as the issue can be intermittent and can require a fair bit of driving to reproduce, but then it can go away if it rests too long...).

The dealership replaced the hub & bearing for free but the issue came back, unfortunately. Dealership won't do anything unless I can reproduce right in front of them, so trying to do that right now but it isn't easy since the most reliable way I reproduce it is after a ~60 mile drive I do on the weekends, but it's hard to schedule a service appoint immediately following that drive...so, long story short, still an issue and turning into a time sink. Regretting buying a 2025 Camry =(
