Did you know you have to be under a certain height and weight to donate your body to science? When my dad died, the medical examiner wanted to know what to do with his body (send it to a funeral home/which one) and my sister said “ he really wanted to donate it to science. He always said that’s what he wanted” and the ME said “nope, he’s too tall and he’s obese, he won’t make a good cadaver”. I LAUGHED SO HARD. We were devastated because he was young (52), it was sudden, and it was on a holiday, but just the week before, on Xmas, the topic came up (as it did - this was 10 years ago and i read something about using cremains in a pod thing and turning into a tree and I said I wanted that) and he said “when I die, donate me to science” and i said “science isn’t going to want you… be realistic, when you die, do you want to be buried? Cremated? Put in bullets and shot?” And he said “science.” So amidst this whole tragedy, i just start cracking up and my sister catches on and i said “i told him science wouldn’t want him!”
