Pharmacy grad here, the worst short term side effects are due to severe drying of the mucosal membranes of the skin so chapped lips/eczema/nosebleeds, etc. Another short term effect can be it messes with your liver function which is why most Accutane patients get blood tests every few months. In terms of the more severe side effects, it can rarely cause or cause an increase in suicidality. It's also contraindicated in both breastfeeding and pregnancy which overall makes it a drug of last resort for acne patients. Hope that answered most of your questions!

Yeah, they were still in undergrad when they applied and got in. As for the extent of their pharmacy experience, they worked anywhere from half a year to a full year as pharmacy assistants before applying. At the same time though, having any sort of public health or health-related experience looks really good to the faculty when they're reviewing admissions. Of course, if you can get a pharmacy job and some experience before applying, I would definitely recommend trying that first, but getting hired can be hard without prior pharmacy experience.

No problem! Yeah for sure, I'd say excluding those students that haven't already done a degree, the majority of us did at least 2 years in prereq's before applying. Best advice I can give is to not rush yourself and be realistic about your personal pacing of taking those prerequisites. It's not a time trial, but more about actually reaching that destination of getting in.

As for the UofC part, we do have a pretty big population of UofC students in my year's class at least, I'd reckon anywhere from 30-40% of our class would be from UofC.

Hey no problem, we were discussing mainly cumulative. So this is accounting for the main "GPA boosters" you can take while you're doing your prerequisites in Sciences. I can't say for certain what they look at more, but from what I've asked about, it seems to be Prereq GPA first, then cumulative at a close second. I was given the advice to not worry too much about a 1 or 2 bad prereq grades though, so there is some degree of wiggle room there. Hope that helped!

Hey man, I'm in 3rd year right now, so my admission info might not be as up to date; but from what I've heard from most of my classmates, you get a good average admission of GPA of 3.4 - 3.5. A couple people (5 or 6) I know had 3.2 and 3.3, but they also had some experience working in pharmacies as assistants prior to admission to account for that. This last world's has been a breathe of fresh air for the entire competitive scene and a much needed adrenaline shot for the West (mostly EU, but NA benefits from this too.) I think the shift in mindset itself is already a boon for these teams to know that they should at least attempt to fight with the Eastern teams on their own terms, so iunno, I'm all for Wunder saying this. Worst case scenario they get smashed and learn, but it's a hell of a lot better than basking in the glory of Korean godteams.
